if you pull the mounting screws for the light out you can pull them out with a small pick tool. take your time, caress them and they will come out.

Hey all I have a quick question now that we have been getting lots of rain etc. I always worry about water getting into the cab view the Mounting holes on the gutter you have to put silicon in. When Installing my roof rack since I did it myself. I may have taken longer than usual to actually bolt down the roof rack after I put the silicon and I hope it stayed liquid for it to grip around the bolts. But lets say I didn't use enough silicon which i think I did. If water does get in there, where does it go?

Has anyone had issues with roof leaks on both the rear bracket mounts even with silicone applied? Washed the truck about a month ago and found leaks at the rear corner of the cab. Removed the rear bolts and reapplied another healthy dab of silicone inside the bolt holes, but found that it’s still leaking after another wash today.

Any advice on how to fix it? I’m thinking of tearing down the inner liner inside the cab and trying to apply additional silicone or something if that would help.

Are you the one that had a company install it? Maybe they stripped out the mounting holes? Also you need to not only put silicon in the holes but around the outside where spacer sits as well.

No, I installed myself. When applying the silicone, I made sure to put it inside the holes and around the base of the spacer, enough to where the silicone was leveled with the top of the weather strip.

if water hit the silicone before it was fully cured it could have allowed for a weak/no seal

id pull the bolts and reapply

I figured that too, but I kept it in the garage for a good 4 days before even driving it out for it to cure properly.
Guess I’ll give it another shot.

Do you possibly have a leaky 3rd brake light?

I don’t believe so. I checked around the light and there’s no sign of wetness in that area — just the rear corners of the cab.
