I've had my pro skid plate on for multiple oil changes with a fumoto oil drain and never had any issues. I do my own oil changes at every 5k miles. I always use factory oil filters at every change.

That's the last thing I'll do...trust some kid at the dealership...oil changes aren't done by journeyman mechanics!

Last week I went in for my "free" 20K mile service. Service made a big deal that I'd get my cabin filter changed as part of it. When I left I went to put the receipt in my glove box and nothing was moved. So I decided to check and the filter wasn't changed but it was on the receipt as being changed and billed to Toyota.

Went right back and they said it was a mistake and they'd fix it. Wonder how many people they do that to? Charge for service they didn't perform and made it seem like a hassle that I went back. F you Elgin Toyota.

Not to mention clean out all the stuff that has accumulated up there. But that's much easier with the non-pro skid plate it sounds like.

It's hit and miss for me. My 20,000 mile service was great. They did it for free and gave me a nice printout of the inspection too.

My 25,000 mile service (only 2 months later) not so much. They charged me for oil (which I expected) and for the tire rotation because my free ones through Toyota Care expired in 2018 (I just bought the truck in April and they did the last one free of charge). No inspection printout either. Luckily I'm pretty mechanically inclined and know I'm at least good until my next service, if I even go back there.

Not true. Even my big ass hands manage to install it with the plate on. Yes it is easier to remove the plate.

Fumoto valve on the pan and I use a hose on the filter. Easy to do. And that TRD Pro skid plate is heavy when on your back.

Sweet. I have one sitting here waiting to install. Did you happen to remove the skid plate for the initial install, or was the 24 mm socket the way to go? Also, I've read different options about the Torque spec...
