Entune is embarrassingly bad...

I must be crazy because I don't have a problem with it.

 

I agree that Entune is bad, I don't understand why they are selling at ridiculously high prices on eBay. Makes way more sense to go with a superior aftermarket unit. And what about the plastic bezel? $200? Who would be stupid enough to pay that?

 

Absolute trash! I'd rather stick an 8 track in my truck than that damn entune!

 

The Entune in my 2019 SR5 is pretty lame by 2019 standards. Most companies had Android Auto and Carplay years earlier. Couldn't turn down the deal I got on my 19 over a 20 just for the radio tho.

 

Same here. Bought my 2019 TRD Sport DCLB 4x4 December 28, 2019. Would have liked a 2020, but it was optioned pretty much just as I wanted it. Between the crazy amount they gave me for my trade in (2002 TRD OR with well over 200,000 miles in a blown head gasket and broken shock mount that Was welded back on) and the deal the offered me, bought the truck for a like 9k under MSRP.

The radio/communications system is pretty much early 2000 technology at best in my humble opinion. Would have liked to have Apple play and passenger side smart lock, but I seem to be surviving just fine without them.

 

THE GPS and traffic is the biggest waste of time.

Um, yeah this Wendy's is closed for good and looks like it has been for a while.

 

Entune and Enform are pretty painful. They've always been pretty far behind the curve of modern technology user expectations and this was almost on purpose from Toyota. During development of Entune/Enform Tesla was rolling with their super modern UI, touchscreens, remote management, and telemetry. Toyota/Lexus did not want that; they wanted tried and proven (old) hardware and they relied on the existing headunit manufacturers to do the GUI layer on the headunit. They got what they asked for; already out-of-date infotainment services and hardware. It's frustrating as hell but that's toyota for you i guess.

Why are you trying to go to a Wendy's that's been closed for some time? And why is that your trucks fault?

 

It happened last year when I was out doing some Christmas shopping (back when life was normal). I needed food, burger sounded good, looked for the nearest Wendy's on the trucks entune GPS, went there, and it looked like it had been closed for some time.

Same thing happened with a Wells Fargo too.

 

I'm not even sure WTF Entune is. I use Sirius and the rare nav guide but Google Maps is way better. Thinking of dumping Sirius when this $6 deal is over and doing Apple Tunes via Bluetooth. I have to do a cost analysis on Sirius vs More Phone Data.

 

That's why you have to update your maps if you like that feature. Most car GPS systems aren't connected to the internet getting daily updates to information. Got a smart phone for that.

 

I also have a'19 and signed up for the free stuff.
but for some reason there is ONE heart station that i cannot find.
I can find it on the iHeart app on my phone. I can find it on iHeart website.

I can save it. I can add it as a favorite. I can see it as a recent station.
everywhere except in my truck.

for some reason that station (and so far at least) ONLY that station refuses to show up on my truck radio.


anyone have any clue why or how to fix this?

I've deleted and reinstalled both apps a couple times already.

 

I don't mind it because my old truck had no touchscreen and a lot of physical buttons. That being said, it is much less user-friendly than a lot of the programs I've tried in various rental cars. Ford Sync is pretty bad too, but still better than Entune. It would be easier to deal with if it had Android Auto though, but you need a 2020 for that.

 

What really sucks is if you have the usb drive in with music playing and search for more music, albums, artist, etc is resets it back to the first album, every damn time.

 

I didn't realize that landrover owners were smart enough to use the internet.

Anyone notice how much louder Sirius is than Bluetooth or if you plug phone in USB?? Quality of sound is best with Satellite. Especially with my JL W3

 

Bluetooth is quiet in general. I have to turn the volume all the way up on my phone and then still have to use the radio controls to make it louder still. But it was the same way with my Galaxy Buds until they changed it to one volume instead of 2 independently controlled volumes. (One on the buds and normal phone one)
