Touch up question - 2020 super white taco

Hey guys— not too worried about this but still want to try and fix it. I’m super OCD sometimes and it’s bothering me. I moved some weight equipment and I guess I scratched it in the process. I don’t remember doing it but whatever. It’s there. See pics.

I literally never do paint or body work alone so I’m all ears for suggestions. Obviously I thought about touch up paint but any idea where to start? Do I need to clean it up first etc?

Your dealer most likely has a touch up service that visits weekly, I'd just pay them to do it right,,,, especially since you're OCD and impatient

No, but you could send a text to your salesmen, they usually have a good relationship with them, as fixing scratches on used and trade-ins is very common. If your salesmen wants to help out a customer, he may forward and have his guy hook you up at a discount. These repair guys give their repeat dealers/customers a greatly discounted rate. Doesn't hurt to ask!
Also, since it'll be done right, that will cost more than a tube of paint, but you probably already know that.

 

I have a small chip like that on the side of my bed. I was unloading landscaping stones for my brother-in-law and he had the bright idea to try to pick one up and lift it over the side of the bed. Of course, he lost his grip on it and the damn stone struck the bed. It took every ounce in me to not throw the stone at him lol

At the end of the day, it is a truck and when using it as a truck, things like this are inevitable. I just laid a layer of wax over that spot and left it alone. OP, I'm also very OCD about my stuff lol. You can try going on Automotivetouchup .com and get a touch up pen.

 

Thanks I'll take a look for sure. Yeah. Mine was self inflicted--- glad it wasn't someone I know. I would have been such an asshole.

 

I flew to Houston to buy it from an AutoNation Toyota. So my guy is 5 hours away.

 

I bought a touch-up pen for my wife's car a couple of years ago...$12. That's the route I would go.

 

I'd leave it, once you have one blemish, the rest that are sure to follow won't bother you. It's a truck, all you did is add character

 

Any idea how we can find out the paint code for super white? Any idea if it is Genuine

How did it work out? Was thinking using same on my new rav4 or just leave. In few yrs doubt it would matter just being ocd since its new.

 

When u get touch up paint, apply it in several coats until u have scratch filled higher than your paint. Then use this to flatten the touch up Blob. Stuff is magical.

Is the RAV actually Super White (040) or is it Blizzard Pearl?

It's a new vehicle, how is fixing it even a question? At the very least, clean it and fill it with touch up paint,,, as @pjmariner said though,, it'll be higher than the rest of the paint.

 

I still have it and never touched it. If your close to DFW I’ll give it to you for what I paid or less. I don’t care
