I barely have to tap the brakes to get it to illuminate.

This is amazing. Let me get in on this! I was going to not run any illumination at first since I didn't want to tap into OEM wiring. But a PnP option would be great!

I think I know the issue. The PTS lights up when the truck is off and you open door or hit brakes. But, if you start the truck and drive to work and pull into the garage, at that point the PTS won’t light up unless you turn on driving lights.

So my challenge is in the morning when I pull into the dark garage. Just dark enough to not see the PTS (to turn the truck off). But it’s just light enough to navigate the garage well. I don’t have the problem starting in the pm because as mentioned, it lights up with brake pedal or door.

FWP for sure, I’m just going to go with the blind poke until muscle memory kicks in as someone suggested.

Do you have a harness to tap into the ECT switch?

I bought the ABC PnP wire harness but it does not work with my 2017 to illuminate the camera switch.
I need to tap into the ECT with so I get illumination and dimmer capability.

Will finally be looking for alternate spade connectors this weekend.

I'm assuming you have 4WD, the one I am making for the center console will work for you too.

Yes, I have a 2017 TRD OR access cab. I need to tap into the backlight power of the ECT switch in order to add a camera switch.

The dimming illumination circuit also exists on the 4wd mode change dial. That is what I am planning to tie into with the center console option.

Ok. Do you have a cost for the T harness?

Ok, so a question regarding connector quality for you all. My preference is to use either OEM parts, or at the very least OEM quality connectors whenever possible.

It seems that the supplier can not source the door switch connectors (left of steering wheel) as easily as the rest. The samples I received are using a lower cost alternative connector. It fits and works fine, but it is certainly not as nice as the OEM. Using the OEM connector for this particular option is about 4x the price of using the alternative. They don't seem to have the same problem with the other harnesses.

    Thoughts?

I always prefer the HQ and/or OEM version, even if the cost is a bit higher, but if that is all you can get and you still believe it would work, then it might be the only option. I'm planning on getting it for my 2Lo switch in the center stack, so it won't affect me (assuming you aren't planning on switching those as well if you go this route?), but that is my $0.02.

I am still trying to get them to use OEM from the place I usually order connectors from. I don't understand why they have a problem with that one in particular. It's not at all special. If *I* can buy them cheaply, there is no reason they shouldn't be able to get them cheaper.
