You're right there is a way. My hope was that I could find one small enough to run without either shore power or a generator as my truck is already heavy enough

    Nice find!!!
    I foresee many smiles ahead!

Thermal barrier I’m on the fence about getting. Have talked to some owners and it’s more work to remove condensation from the outer walls. Of course this will depend on the climate you will be in....
    I’ve seen some other approaches:

This guy was in Tucson in the middle of there winter keeping in heat. Looks like a roll of reflectix fits right under the roof’s lip and adhesive backed velcro strips tucks it tight. Haven’t tried it yet but only draw back is no windows and less light.... humm

Interesting. Could always cut out the windows. But how do you put it on without having a ladder?

Yes I see your side door might make it harder. My rear hitch step I can reach it. Standing on the sliders or opening the cab door I think you can slide it behind the roof struts in front. Cutting in windows might make it too floppy I think...? Just guessing here, still haven’t tried it.

Its definitely a good cheap solution to adding some more insulation. Definitely going to keep that in mind for this winter.

    edit:
For me the issue is where will I store that roll of reflectix... ?? A-ha moment dry bag it and somewhere between the cab and overhang.... humm I have the factory roof rack that it could be strapped to..... humm

Maybe this thread should evolve or morph into a hack/project/ideas thread??

another one on my back burner is some kind of faring for the front...

    seen this:

    photoshoped this:
    D89E290F-1B42-4377-BB72-AA97AC2215E6.jpg
not sure if it would be better mounted on the camper or the truck..??

just throwing it out there since we’re in a like minded group..

have a few more but may not be the right time to purge...lol

Bought about 5 years ago for $2,500. Hard as hell to find in Atlanta. Grandby! Best damn money spent for the outdoors no doubt! Never knew this thread was out there.

Yes it was even came with a wooden base dolly so I keep it in my garage when not in use and just roll it out in the driveway to install. It is like a 1987 Model though. But again garage kept! Even off the guy I bought it from.

    Here's my solution for storage

I have more pics and info here:

I've also just built a faring for between the camper and the top of the cab
    IMG_20200908_135308.jpg

It's working very well. More write-up on my build thread.

Back from a hike, thawing out chilly wind today!
I like it we’re not to far apart I had that same space in mind for some angled storage boxes w tube connect. Thinking auto storage, lubes, grease guns etc.. Also reducing the flat wall plowing through the wind. Here’s my idea sketch:

Today was a break for our hiking, pretty dramatic change in weather here in Durango. Where are you?

This is awesome. It bothers me that I can't find the exact spot, but I think you're somewhere near here. You can see Teton Village Ski resort off in the distance...
