Timmcc02, that does look really nice. I'll check it out.
Are you happy with the way it closes up, and do you happen to know if they offer it with locks?

Really nice trucks by the way!
I'm new to the forum. Mine is more of a stock TRD. 2nd gen.
Love to hunt, camp and fish, so the tent would come in real handy.

Ya it took a few times to figure out what was the best way to close it. It doesn’t have a way of locking. I did put key locked nuts So no one could unbolt it from my roof rack. The only problem I have with closing it is I’m short so I have to climb around to get everything tucked in.

Looks Awesome! Would love to see a side pic with it closed if you have one. Im about to install mine and I was considering installing reversed like you did, Im assuming its more aero that way since it sits so low bout would love to see how it looks from side. TIA!

I am in the research phase with the plan up and going by April/May next year.

    Couple of questions,

1- after using your tent or set up, what is the biggest thing you don’t like, wish was different or what not. in the same token, what’s the biggest thing you are thrilled with about your tent.

2- what was the reasons you purchased the tent you did.

3- why did you use rack system/bar system you are.

Tepui Ruggedized Series Autana 3 person is what I currently have.

1 - I like that setup is 5 min or less without the annex. Close up takes at least 20 minutes and its not easy...huge PITA; lots of care needs to used to avoid jamming the cover zipper with the tent fabric.

2 - The tent is roomy, has nice windows/skylights for summer camping, and is durable enough for late/early season weather. I would consider using it in winter as well.

3 - BAMF Low profile rack with RTT mounting plates with bottle opener and XL Universal Mounting Plates mounted to the outside of rack. BAMF makes great stuff, they are close to me, and I liked the low profile aspect. Want to keep the center of gravity as low as possible and minimize aero drag of the tent. Side mounting plates work well and so does the conveniently placed bottle openers. :)

That’s the sky camp mini installed “backwards” so that it opens to the driver side. Which is how I was thinking of doing too because then the shell form flows with the truck a bit imo.

CVT has a new hard shell RTT coming out. Looks similar in design to the ikamper but with maybe more head room.

If you guys were mainly just doing established campsites (not going off road) would you think an RTT would be worthwhile ? I'm back and forth between this and a canvas tent like a Springbar, I think I would rarely go off road, but getting off the ground could be nice too
