Those have impressive low beam performance for a stock wattage bulb. High beam performance is significantly reduced by the blue coating over the high beam filament. Let us know what you think after your trip, and safe travels!

well, just placed an order for the Osram 100/90 and the Headlight services lighting harness. Can't wait. Made sure to order 4 bulbs.

Also, finally got around to aiming my headlights the other day (Havnt aimed since installing used headlights bought here), even without upgrade done, they feel like a whole new set of headlights. Excited toe see what the mod does. I get home at 2:30 - 3:00 am every night (Morning??) with the first 5 - 10 min of driving being unlit country roads.

I threw a set of stock wattage Vosla bulbs into my truck just now. I drive in town way too much to feel comfortable with wildly brighter than stock headlights. Based on the OP’s testing these ought to be a decent upgrade over stock.

Got them from Headlight Services and I must say shipping was lightning fast.

Installed the OEM sport smoked headlights and philips racing vision bulbs. Super happy with them over the garbage spyder knockoffs that we’re on the truck from PO. Going to eventually replace the stock wiring and better bulbs.

I'm sure those will be a decent upgrade. FWIW, however, you should have no trouble running the upgraded harness and bulbs around town, if your headlights are properly aimed and you're not insanely lifted. (I'm lifting ~3" and have never been flashed because my upgraded setup was "too bright.")

well, looks like harness shipping cost to Canada has increased to $30usd, or $40cad do to the shipping company. Quite expensive, but I'm assuming it's worth it

I restored the super hazy original lenses on my '06 and installed the osrams and the new harness a couple months ago - the brightness of the lights is awesome! Such an upgrade. Thanks for doing the research and sharing with all of us. I have been flashed by oncoming traffic a few times, when I never did before. I didn't change the alignment of the lights, just changed the bulbs and installed the harness. My truck has maybe 1.5" of lift with the OME 885's and bilsteins 5100's set at no lift. Just sharing my experience. Thanks again.

I never noticed how far out my headlights were until I installed this system. The old lights weren't bright enough to bother anyone even out of adjustment. Once aligned properly have had no issues with anyone flashing me.

Remember the popular Osram 70/65w Hyper bulbs that were discontinued a while back?

Osram had started development on a next generation version of that performance bulb. The bulbs switched to using quartz and higher internal pressure for longer service life and better performance. However the bulbs never made it to commercial production. An engineer at Osram was cleaning out a lab and found a batch of these new next gen bulbs. Just like my current 85/80w Hyper bulbs that were from the initial production run, these have no markings/stamps. Rather than the all season diffractive coating available on the original bulb, these have an available yellow filtration coating.

Last vehicle I’m pretty sure it was a 3M kit with the protectant. Had to do it twice in almost seven years but it worked.

I just used the Turtle Wax brand on my van and it did a great job. Sealer was in it.

Having driven around with the stock wattage Vosla bulbs for a bit, I can say light output and down the road is definitely improved over stock Osrams. I made the choice after reviewing @crashnburn80 ’s instrumented testing and these seemed to be that intersection point between enhanced performance, reasonable lifespan, and amperage draw near stock.

I’d go with high wattage bulbs and a new harness if I felt I needed them, but for typical on road usage I think these were a great choice. http://www.headlightservices.com/Bulbs.html

If I just buy the harness and the bulbs and use them in my stock head light housings, will it be necessary to measure with tape, etc. the current aim of my stock bulbs before replacing them or should it be plug and play and good to go?

EDIT: Just ordered the harness and bulbs as recommended. Thanks for all your hard work and info @crashnburn80!

Assuming your headlights are OEM with stock alignment, adjusting aim should not be required. The upgrade should be plug & play.

As @Norton mentioned it is plug and play. You only need to worry about rearming if when replacing your headlight assemblies or if yours are out of alignment.

Edit: And by rearming I meant re-aiming. :)

Thanks. I tried to revisit the thread to avoid repeating previous questions. I must have overlooked that post. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my already asked question!

Would an Osram 55w/60w from their 'Original' line be considered a stock bulb?
