Who gets tired of hearing that the TRD Sport 4x4 isn't off road capable? It's a Toyota truck!!

Kudos for wheeling a manual. There are some real sketch things out here in colorado where I could not imagine having a manual with. I'll end up left foot braking and rolling onto the throttle so I don't slip, couldn't imagine how much harder that would be in a manual.

HA well then nevermind, quitter! :p

Pro's and cons is the theme of this thread lol. Sometimes it'll be clear traffic and I'm just driving around missing actually rowing through gears. Other times my ass is clenched real hard and I'm glad I can make these very slow crawls in an auto.

Well in 2018/19 not AC, MT in OR. Which almost soured me completely on Tacoma. So I got a sport. I had to have a LONG bed and no need for more seats.

I liked the Sport street suspension better than the OR . I liked the looks of of the Sport and the 17 inch wheels better and I don't need a locker or CC . I do need 4x4 in the winter and the Sport does great and the limited slip works well too . If you off road and need those features great that's why they make different trims .

And the last thing I want is a MT unless it's a weekend sports car ride .

I see. I missed the AC part for some reason. Had an extended cab pickup before and went away from it for a reason. I do miss that 6' bed though. But my bed extender makes up for that, plus some.

I like to store my "dry" stuff in the back seats. Plus its the only air tight space for food and whatnot because bears and incredibly brave raccoons up here. Part of me wants to remove the rear seats for extra in cab storage, but I'm sure that will bite me in the ass whenever I actually have to drive people around.

Yeah, that was my issue. My Canyon didn't have enough room for people, but had plenty of room for my stuff, and was definitely used for such purposes. It drove me nuts because I can't stand clutter like that. The Double Cab Taco gives me places to store that stuff out of sight and bring people along.

I was the same way, then covid hit and I was (and still am) camping or wheeling almost every weekend and I got to a point I just said screw it. It gets hosed off when needed but all my crap is always packed and covered in a light dust lol

Camping is a whole other ballgame. The clutter drives me insane, but that truck is packed full, including the bed!

I am very happy with my little SR5. It checked off all the boxes of what I was looking for and is a solid truck.

I like it, so who cares what anyone else thinks?

But TRD’s should at the very least be tuned from the factory over 300hp imo...lol

Does the vacuum brake booster setup in the sport have individual control over each brake like the ATRAC system does? I thought it didn’t. The other benefit to ATRAC is the electronic brake booster can apply a lot of clamping force at low engine speeds because it’s not relying on RPM for vacuum.

Seems like it does, there have also been videos posted about how effective the stock LSD is.

    Yes and No

The MT does NOT have a smaller differential. Butt, yeah they could have tossed in a locker.
