I believe the MX4 is different due to the relocated bracket. It doesn't take too long with the MX4, but more than 10 minutes...less than 30. Puting them back in seem to take a bit more time with aligning and all. It's just not something I care to do all that often, but If you only use the tent a couple times a year, it's not a problem. For me, the easier I make it to get the tent out, the more likely I am to actually use it.

And that's my other concern... if I'm gunna spend the money on the tent/rack... I kinda want to use it a good bit. I can definitely be lazy when it comes to setup etc. don't want the hard work of getting it on and off to turn me off to using it!

I wish there were more options to go with the mx4 but unfortunately there isn't!

I hear you. Which is why despite my initial reservation about running the rack full time, I decided it was worth the trade-off. The look of a rack has grown on me, but I'd probably still prefer to not have it...maybe I'll run it for camping season, take it off after. Who knows? I hear of people doing this with their tents as well.

Im super lazy when it comes to opening my tent.. I just click a button while others are struggling to unzip the covers and fumbling around with windows..

Also, when is the end of camping season?

Takes me about 6 minutes to set up or take down without the annex.

It was 103 here the other day....its not fun to sleep in. Believe me.

Got a Slumberjack Roadhouse tarp and set it up for the first time, worked great. Connected it to the bed rack and then staked the rest of it down, the only thing I may change is getting adjustable poles.IMG_0840.jpg

Taking a day off isnt a big deal for me as long as I got a few weeks heads up. Id think youd want at least 3 days to make a trip like that though, from the VA area

Its not easy lifting and taking down all 60lbs of my pup but man, he loves camping and hanging out in the "Treehouse"

Mine does too! Highly recommend putting your cooler next to the ladder and then standing on that as you lift him up. My lab is 90 pounds, but it is super easy with his harness and the extra 1.5-2 feet of lift height the cooler provides me

not a bad idea, not sure i'd trust my cooler but some type of step up would be helpful.

I bought an $80 ozark trail (yeti knock off) at Walmart since I needed a cooler anyway. Holds us both perfectly when I lift him. I use it for getting him down too

I’ve got a couple of those Ozarks, had them for a few years, and when it comes time to replace, I’ll buy more. Well maybe, I’m thinking about a plug in cooler, for the cross country trips.
