Try “tightening” the bolt from that side to move it out the way it would normally go if the bolt were not cut. I just replaced these bolts when I installed my TRd cat back and I noticed the bolts have a shelf near the end. Maybe that shelf is hitting something?

See how the 3 or 4 threads at the end of the bolt have a slightly smaller diameter than the other threads?

I do see the shelf. I tried both directions and no budge. I'll try hitting it with some oil and heating out again, but I'm not real hopeful at this point. Another fine mess I got myself in.

Im with him and drilling it out. I think its the most cost effective option, but it you want it to stock again the other options given would be fine.

So, I'm half way there. Devil, seeing the image of the bolt with the shelf was very helpful. I cut a notch with the dremel, and drove a punch into it counterclockwise. The bolt did not seem to move, but I tried the vise grips again and it turned. Now I just have to get the other one out. Thanks again, all.

I wonder if cutting a flat slot would help, enough to jam a big strong flathead screwdriver into the slot to try and turn it.
Another thing is cold water. Sometimes it helps to heat something up, and then spray cold water, such as from a spray bottle. Because the temperature change (if sprayed on the stud) will cause the stud to try and contract, while the flange is still expanded from the heat. Which can help shock it loose.

But regardless, if the section of that in the flange is a smooth or grooved cylinder that got pressed in at the factory for a tight press fit, that makes it even harder to remove

Oops. I knocked the flange right off the weld. Looks like I need a new one.

My parts place still can't find this so if anyone knows where can get the right flange I'd be appreciative.

The outer diameter of the y pipe is 2 3/8". The center of the flange holes are 4 9/32", but they are big holes so 4.5" to 4 5/8" might work.

So, will 2.5 inches work on 2 3/8 pipe?

That pipes looks like 2.5" od so the 2.5" id flange should work. You would need to get it welded to the y-pipe unless you were going to try one of the slip on repair flanges. Your local muffler shop probably has flanges available so you might want to check with them if you need them to weld up a flange.
