Hey guys! First post in a long time! Ended up having a bunch of medical stuff go wrong over the last few months and haven’t been posting and honestly haven’t paid much attention to my truck at all. I feel horrible about it since I’m normally one to take very good care of his vehicles!

Anyone try to get an OEM pro grille lately? Mine would be for a 16/17 so I would need the one that I understand is harder to get. I have a connection somewhat into a local dealers part department so I’m hoping that helps me... Have any of you tried to order recently? Do you still need the pro vin to get it and all that good stuff. I think it’s overkill to need all that just to buy a part.

You do still need a vin, but yours is a 16 so you don't need the TSS sensor. it would probably be better for you to just get an aftermarket one. it's just a piece of plastic on the front of the truck. not like there's a sensor behind yours that needs to work. it'll be a lot cheaper, and look just as good

eBay ? Without a vin they won’t sell you at the dealer .

I ordered mine in 2017 and didn’t need a pro vin. I haven’t needed one for any of the pro parts I ordered in the last 3 years (grill, skid plate, shift knob, 17 wheels, 20 wheels)

True! I was just going to head this route first and go from there. I can find a vin offline I guess that’s for sale or something somewhere and hopefully that’s all they need if they need it.

You can order from parts.toyota.com and pickup for free at your local dealer. Otherwise there’s a bunch that will ship as well.

Well guys, I went aftermarket! I even got a discount a hefty one but still couldn’t justify spending that. Ordered from the “taco garage.” I picked up a TRD Sport hood on marketplace in my area too so it’s a win win!

How has correspondence been with Taco Garage? I ordered a grille from them and haven’t gotten a response in a week.

Shipping was slow (two weeks for me), but they always replied to my emails within a day or two.

Im not too worried about the grill itself, but the TSS plastic is where they get you in price. Piece of plastic is $300+, and some say aftermarket TSS plastic is hit or miss.

Didn’t have much trouble at all! Ordered I think like maybe a week and a half ago.. and it just showed up today. They have a phone number on their site if you can’t find it I’ll see if it’s in my emails anywhere. Might be worth a shot to call them and see. Good luck with everything!

The only reason they want a VIN is to ensure you are getting the correct part. Or that you know what you are ordering. There are several dealerships that have discounted prices on their parts web site.
