Today I ordered a new suspension set-up from Dobinsons. Front and rear struts, coils, SPC UCAs, and new leaf pack. I'm going to have to find a place around town to install and was wondering if anyone had a ballpark idea of how much that could run. Is it a couple hour job? I'm hoping to get by under $500.

Looks good! I did an insert from Etsy. My installation process wasn't the best because I didn't want to mess with the air bag :D

I finally ordered a part that I've been wanting ever since I bought this truck... a door check
I'm getting a creaking noise when the L/F door is opened/closed. I thought it was the upper hinge because it was bad, so I put in a new hinge and the noise was still there.
Upon further inspection, the door check is rubbing against the window run channel.

I ordered a new door check, window run channel, GPS and XM antennas, a couple wire loom clamps, a L/F door wire harness and I think that's it.

I got this one at the start of the year because I ripped mine off on a really tight trail. I don't use the radio much I use my AUX but I don't think I lost any reception with it. Had nothing when it got ripped off. And the stubby looks so much better then the whip that was on there.

Can you enlighten me on this please sir. Not familiar with a Door Check. How does this come into play with the door fully opened? Reason I'm asking is I was pulling out of gas station the other day and had drivers door opened with 255/75/17 Mud Tires that are worn pretty bad and I thought the truck was going to come apart right there in the parking lot. I know MT cause a lot of vibration but this was crazy! Shut the door and couldn't notice the sound anymore. I thought my dash was going to end up in my lap! Loud as Hell! Not sure if these are related issues just checking. And yes I did google "Door Check" just can't figure out why it would be more pronounced with the door open. It was so loud I should have been able to hear it with the door shut? Was thinking the truck was flexing somehow?:notsure:

You can see the end of the door check here and where it is rubbing on the window run channel.

That's odd. o_O Has the door ever been worked on before? In 40+ years of doing bodywork, the only times I've seen that issue is when the check strap is curved and has been installed upside down. The curve let's it move away from the glass channel as it comes into the door. Isuppose it could be just plain worn out

With the door closed, I can take the check and move it from side to side so I think the plastic bushing inside is worn. Doesn't look like the door has ever been apart but the upper hinge was bad (I already replaced that) so I'm thinking it's from excessive use by the PO.

New shift knob. It’s the little things sometimes, and it sure is pretty in person.

No, when I open or close the door and it's at the position shown (open about 6") is when I hear the noise.
The door check moves inside the door causing the noise.

It has a little more umph and doesn't require downshifting as much. Waiting to see what difference the exhaust re-work does tomorrow. Have a road trip to NJ next week so I'll get a good look at any MPG changes. Highest I've ever seen is 18 MPG. Hoping losing the 36 pounds of rotating mass of the heavy steel wheels and the header and exhaust mods helps a bit to boost that number.

Yes and it works great. This product has a black pigment in it so it will bring that heavily faded trim back.
