I can bring you a chair, and tent (3 man coleman) if you'd need.

Food just let me know what you want; I'll bring a small propane cooktop as my camping is very primitive.

I'm not sure where the sensor is tbh. But did the shop forget to reattach the coolant line to the TB? I'd be pissed, even getting that close to red is no good (assuming it was actually overheating and not just a sensor issue). Was the coolant boiling? Mine got close to that once back when I had the stupid efans and I could hear the coolant in the reservoir hissing.

On the 4 banger (not sure for 6cyl) there's actually 2 temp sensors, one that talks to the ECU and one that is strictly for the gauge cluster. The one for the cluster is on the side of the head (passanger I think) near the middle and the important one is in the back of the head by the firewall. Pain in the ass to get to!

I would get a scantool that can read live data and see what the actual temperature is

Is that what the coolant line to the TB is for? I've always wondered why there needed to be coolant going there.

Aight I'll let you know. Gonna dig out my stuff some night this week. As for food, honestly I'll eat whatever. I can buy my own dry/can foods in town once I get there and use a simple stove like that. I didnt know if someone wanted to cook or do anything special or if were all on our own.

If youve gotta buy one, the cheapest folding camp chair they have. I'll bring you some money to cover it. I think Academy has em for around $10.

They attached it but like in the picture they forgot to clamp it. Noticed some coolant gone and been topping it off. Even checked at gas stations with my hand on the intake head and i couldnt feel heat eminating. Finally this morning caught it leaking in the action and after my shift i saw the dumbassery haha

Must've finally started leaking good this morning, and only on high rpms earlier. Did notice high rpm miss and i guess that coolant was falling into injectors idk. Gonna have them one over it again after this smh

Shiet. When my trucks warming up it bounces until it reaches ideal temp. Now its not reading high anymore after fixing those leaky lines. U think i was really getting hot??

Depends on how much coolant you had to add... just a cup? Or half a gallon? I had similar gauge issues when I rebuilt mine and it was the sensor itself, I forked up the wire where it plugged into the engine harness. I was able to verify that by using my code rwader that does live data and checking the real time temp... if i was you I would pull into an oriellys or something and ask them to use the reader to check live data. No code.

If the newb scratches his head and says he can't do that. Ask his boss.

Legit the leaking and mild missfire from it caused a CEL. And it doesnt have code attached to it. I literally just left autozone and they couldnt pull a code from my CEL on rn. Ill have them do live data tomorrow then since im home. But fixing those leaky hoses seems to have cured it all
