Honestly I think you all are over thinking this brand thing (both sides of this conversation), its going to be covered by molle bags or what ever you put on there. Its not using up space that would be more molle holes just due to the design of the rack already.

If you dont like the logo, put a bag there and its gone. if you like the logo, put a bag there and its still gone. I dont think someone who buys a molle panel just to not cover the whole thing with bags is using it for instagram points. The logo offers some good too, you can use carriage bolts slid into it that would give you very adjustable hard mounting points.

Finally, someone sees that there are bolt through points all through the logo, just as if there was just a hole. the molles squares are still in same place and qty regardless of logo position, the logo being removed just adds 3 bolt holes. however, people arent reading, i have posted numerous times that i will make some changes. also, at the end of the day, dont buy it if its not what you want.

It will all work out, im not looking to please everyone, its impossible. I just want to make a quality part and try to build a business. maybe i can sell both. some people actually like logos. I know quite a few people that cover their Jeeps in DV8 body armor and inner fenders, and bumpers. but to comment on Nike comment, i too am looking to make a quality product, not a brand. but instead of a swoosh, i have my logo, maybe in 5 or 10 years or sooner, people will know my parts from my logo the same.

    OP,

Good for you starting a business ! I hope you sell a million of them. Best of luck to you.

Three things worth thinking about as you move forward:

    1) For less skilled people, like myself, it would be really good to know how the product is installed. For example, the great picture you showed with it in the overhead (steel screws but I know you are looking for black screws). Is that going into existing holes or is there drilling required? Install info is really important -- dare I say a differentiator.

    2) Product info and instructions matter. I really like supporting the small businesses that are innovating for Tacoma owners. But I can't tell you how many products I passed on because the instructions were terrible -- or non existent. Keep in mind, I am at the low end of the skill market. There are plenty of really skilled people here who can get a product shipped to them with no instructions, make a trip to the hardware store, fab something up and get it installed with no problem. But there are a lot of folks like me who don't have those skills and would prefer the product instructions are well thought out. I was looking at buying a product from a vendor here (who shall go unnamed) that cost $850. I asked do you have instructions -- and the response I got was "there are a bunch of YouTube videos from people you can look at." Ah, no. I want to know how you recommend the product be installed. I don't want to screw it up.

    3) Some perhaps helpful background reading on the concept of branding, logos and marks. I may not be a skilled wrencher, but this stuff I completely understand. Worth looking at how the master Paul Rand thought of these things -- and how he educated Steve Jobs:

    https://www.fastcompany.com/90164213/3-essential-branding-lessons-from-a-rare-steve-jobs-interview

Finally, providing this feedback because you asked ... and since I try to support small businesses ... I wanted to throw this out there for your consideration. Best of luck to you !

Release one with the logo and one with a smaller logo or logo delete. See which one actually sells.

Wonderful response and very constructive. Spot on the rear console part (which is the one I am waiting for) as well. I will use that for a tear-away first-aid bag so, at the very least, I will need to use some big-honking washers.

UPDATED HEADLINER MOLLE RACK. LOVE IT, OR LIST IT? LOGO MADE HALF THE HEIGHT AND OVER HALF THE POINT OF LETTER THICKNESS, ALSO MOVED TO END FROM THE CENTER.

I dont like loosing the mole parts on the sides, thats where the kids water bottles hang.

If people are so bent on not having a logo, perhaps the space between the 5 holes on the side and the mount points could be a laser engraved logo or machined down a little bit there. You could offer it in color matched

Perhaps making a metal tag that you just rivet on there would satisfy some

I THINK THIS IS IT! I placed logo on upper lip. this will not interfere with any of the mounting holes and logo is 50% smaller.

None of the other ones bothered me but I do gravitate toward the minimalist on the logo. If all three were available this is the one I would purchase.
