Doesn't have provisions for balance shafts either. But otherwise the blocks are the same and the 2tr block is the same as the 3rz block too

 

Interesting. Does the balance shaft make much of a difference? I keep hearing about people removing them.

Yes almost identical. When I did the swap I had to use the oil pan and sump off a 3rz also. So much of it is interchangeable

likely not. only 2rz would need different pans for the 5 lug chassis. the 3rz was only in 4x4 and prerunner setups which would have the 4x4 style pan

 

It helps for sure, mostly at idle and at about 4500k. Just how the harmonics work. It's for comfort though, they don't need to be there and you'll raise the oil pressure and have less parasitic loss if you remove them

 

the lce and paradise racing 3rzs have them deleted.

 

Yeah they're not required. They're present for NVH purposes only.

 

I don't think there is only the 5lug was different it was flater and had a lower profile. The 4wd was deeper but had a cut out side to make room for the front diff.
