theyre terrible burn your whole clutch in a day, only way a manual is good for crawling is if its geared SO LOW, like my dads old f250 i could get off it put it in 1st and walk next to it

 

The fact that it’s a 4 cyl means 28k is way high

 

It takes more skill than an auto but many people manage just fine.

 

I doubt you can get a 4x4 2020 MT for 28k

I dont blame you. I intentionally seemed out a 2nd gen. Went from a 1995 to a 2015 tacoma last year.. still happy and I also kept first gen (luckily). Plus I don't like the look of the third gens. Good luck with the hunt and don't settle to much. Know what you want and go for it

 

For reference I paid in April 2020 for a 2015 TRD OR, 6spd V6 4x4 with 26k miles CPO from a dealer.

 

Great deal, I'm finding out they somewhat rare with low miles.

I drive an auto because I’m lazy but to say a manual is terrible for wheeling probably has more to do with your skills than the trucks abilities

 

No no no, a manual is terrible fo ask anybody who doesnt have LOW GEAR 1st in a manual they would rather walk then burn ther whole clutch ina. Weekend

 

Based off your presence here and the posts and threads of yours that I’ve seen I’m guessing that you don’t have a lot of experience with all this truck stuff and are just repeating things you heard other people say to try and sound knowledgeable.

I’m not sure why you felt the need to come in and offer your ‘wisdom’. OP is on the hunt for a fresher truck and prefers a manual, nowhere did they say it was for ‘crawling’.

 

Well, I for one have a manual. The manual that came with the truck with 130k miles and counting on it. You’re right though, if you burn through a clutch in a whole day then I’d say yes, you should stick to an auto.
