The version I have also has two wires (regardless of the fact that the audio functionality still doesn't work) - it does charge the iPod (touch 1st gen) - so this really isn't needed unless it doesn't charge other models, I know it also charges my nano as well..

I have the one with the 2 wires and it does not charge my ipod touch 2nd gen. Also, when i installed it, the plug that i am supposed unplug and plug into the new wire harness was not plugged in and wasnt even there. I just plugged in the T harness and left the female plug unplugged. It seems to be working but im not really sure why mine is missing that plug.

You don't have to jailbreak it, but jailbreaking it and installing the noaccessorysplash app will allow you to change music hassle-free while its plugged into the adapter. It will still play music when it is not jailbroken, you will just not be able to change the music easily when its plugged into the adapter.

Yes... it works, just can't charge or control the music from the ipod music from the phone. you can, however, use Pandora and other music apps (Ootunes is great for listening to music from other cities or streaming stations that you can't get on a normal radio :))

Still haven't had time to break apart the cables to see about switching a +5v charging cable... I have a feeling that it will require a cig charger sacrifice to make it work, but whatever... will be worth it IMO.

Umm not sure about the wire but did you press the disc button twice so that it goes to auxillary?

Not sure, i don't see why it wouldn't though. For 10$ might as well get it and if it doesn't work for calls then use it for music.

    Great!! Nothing better for 10$
I find it strange that your radio doesn't work though, maybe something came loose in back, not like you want to take it apart again though.

Just got mine installed! Works beautifully, and all together for under 20 buckaroos. Can't beat that. Question, when I removed the cover under the right air vent, there was a wire with a four pin connector there, not connected to anything. Anyone have any idea what that is for?
