1st Gen Lunchtable Thread - General Discussion

Yeah the last few mornings when I get up, our rooms are filled with blood red light coming in through the windows. It's actually pretty amazing until you realize it's from the fire burning just a few miles away from the neighborhood, lol. So much smoke you can stare right at the sun right now and it just looks like a red moon

 

Yep, this was at about 11am yesterday; sun barely poking through



On the plus side, met a really cute girl that works for the county? She was out with her radio and antenna tracking condors that have gone MIA; they have tags that emit certain radio frequencies and she was trying to ping them.

 

That actually sounds like an awesome job...get to be outdoors in the forest all day by yourself tracking the ugliest endangered bird to ever exist

 

Minus the tracking of condors, we were talking about that.

I've always wanted a job that kept me outdoors. She told me she took a huge paycut to do so but loves it; told her I'd be doing the same when I move.

Apparently only part of the flock had radio transmitters with GPS on them whereas the rest are only radio. The fires made them all scatter throughout which makes it tough for them to find.

They even found a few birds on the other side of the mountain with another flock by the Pinnacles.

 

Oof.. auto anything on this 3rz is such a turd, I can only imagine the poor performance

 

I hate it.. i get so much dust on the fronts it comes off it little brittle cakes, plus makes the rims look crazy rusty

 

This is San Francisco, 6:30 AM. This is two blocks from the ocean.

Incorrect. That 2nd photo was actually taken at 07:52:16AM per the time stamp. So not at the same time.


But yeah, that sucks. I've been thru that shit before but that actually looks way worse out there.

They do the same thing with lions. A grad students doing a study right now and I get monthly emails. They move way more than I thought

 

It’s bad up in Oregon too, they seem to be having it worse than us at least in the Bay Area.

 

Those kind of jobs are badass.
