I live in Seattle and my 3rd gen was hit while parked yesterday damaging the front bumper and grill. Looks like this is a good excuse to upgrade.

What are some shops in the area that either fabricate steel or aluminum front bumpers or at very least install them if i ordered online? Not a fan of mule after some back and forths with them via email when i was shopping for suspension. Michaels did my suspension with help from Monroe, wasn't sure if they did this kind of work.

We don't really have any full fab shops. A bumper install isn't the most complicated thing, but if you really just want a shop to do it I'd talk to Monroe @TheToyotaGarage

Hardest part of doing the install of a Lil-B bumper is cutting the plastic and getting a clean cut! However, I saw that one of the Tacoma mod dudes is going to be selling "pre-cut" pieces that are color matched to stock Tacoma colors....i think it is the Running4Taco guys, but don't quote me on that. Ask Brian at Lil-B...he made a comment on their Instagram story or post, whoever it was. No idea on cost but that would make the install WAY easier. Then you just need to cut the fender flairs.

here they are...i think sold out (but more likely they just are still being made so aren't in stock yet), but man this would make it easy

Well if that's the hardest part, I think it might be best to find a friends driveway and get some help lifting. My bumper is already damaged so the cutting shouldn't be my biggest worry.

what i mean is getting a cut that looks level and is clean and even on both sides. also choosing the exact gap you want to cut for. it takes a steady hand...and angle grinder with a thin blade works well to cut it. I didn't do mine, had a friend do it who has done tons of fabrication work and has the steady level hand.

other than cutting that plastic and the fender flares, you're just bolting it on after you remove some stuff...several videos on youtube show you exactly how.

If your upper corners aren't damaged you can definitely pocket that money for a new bumper cover. Installing a new bumper is actually really easy, just cut a lot less than you think you need, line it up, cut some more and keep at it until it looks good. Also I'd use an angle grinder instead of a sawzall or dremel for smoother cuts.

Damage is mostly cosmetic and other than the grill, will be removed to make room for the new bumper. Great suggestion on cutting less.... Can practice :).
Here is a pic after doing meso mirror and puddle lights this past weekend. The damage (besides scratches on grill) only reaches the fog lights on the passenger side. I should be good to go.

Ok...i'm so incredibly authentic i couldn't do the hood scoop. I guess there is room for both of us. We can cancel the showdown at noon.

We are house hunting in various areas now, I live very close to white center. I am fed up with some of the crime in the area so we are actively hunting all around Seattle and maybe even the east side. In any case, I have been wanting to do things to my truck for a while and since all of my surf trips have been canceled, all the money goes to my truck :). Pretty sure I am done now with the outside.
