    FWIW I just put 265/65r17 E-load BFG KO2s on last week and so far I’m very happy with them. I do notice the ride is a bit stiffer but nothing extreme.

    The Pro and Offroad OEM GoodYear Wranglers are listed at 42 pounds, the 265/75/16 BFG KO2s E rated is listed at 53 pounds; 285/70/17 weigh in at 58 pounds. Whether an 11or 16 pound increase (respectively) in unsprung weight is an "overkill" is subjective and a matter of opinion.

    I have run KO2'S on both the Tacomas I have had, 2015 and then my 2019. Both installed at my request when purchasing from Toyota. Both have been E rated, and the trucks have handled them with no issues. Personally I can't say enough good things about my experience running K02's and will keep running them, I even would like to run them on my offroad trailer when the current tires are nearing the end of their lives.
    I live in BC, Canada, the vast majority of Taco's up here run K02's year round, in either the c or e rating. It's rare to see anything else.

    Yep, Costco sells K02 by the truck load all day long.. Manager said easily 10:1 vs any other tire..
    I ran K02 on the 2nd Gen and they were great, changed to the Toyo RT for the 3rd Gen just to switch it up;

    I had 0 issues balancing 2 sets of ko2s. Not sure why so many guys having issues. My duratracs required more weights.

    You'll have no issues at all running E-rated on the Taco. As many stated, you will definitely lose some mpg's as they are a lot heavier than stock. I was just in the same dilemma you're in last week, I didn't want the added weight of the E load KO2's (265/75-16) but have run KO2's on my Land Cruiser for the past 7 years and they performed excellent. Looked into all types of options and fell on the Falken Wildpeaks in 265/75 16 SL load. They're 9 pounds lighter per tire than the KO2's and look good. I have like 70 miles on them so jury is out on off-road use until I get them on the trail and see how they perform in the rain and snow, but they are quiet and balanced no problem. Good luck in your search, buy what you want.

    This is exactly what I heard about the Toyo AT3s too. I too had the KO2 275 7017 E rated tires on my 4runner. At first I loved them. Off road they were beast. But a vast majority of my drive time was on-road. Fast forward 2 years and they definitely lost some of their wet traction ( I started breaking traction when wet upon acceleration at the same light I go through every day) and became more noisy. And they made a big difference in my MPGs (about 3 mpgs) and power. No doubt one of the best looking tires out there. Can't wait to see what the Toyos do. They'll get a huge test right off the bat with a South NJ to New Liskeard ON Canada trip for Christmas. Now if SCS would get some new inventory.....

    You can do 265/70/17 without rubbing and gain 1/2" clearance.

    I was going to do this but saw multiple posts saying there is minor rubbing if you have mudflaps, thus my reasoning for sticking with OEM size.

    It could rub on the mudflap a bit but its not a big issue at all. Its very minor rubbing.

    You sir seem already tested it out thoroughly.
    Would you confirm that in 3rd Gen Sport Stock form
    under below situations:
    • fully turning position
    • high speed dips
    • turning and going over potholes at the same time
    there's absolutely no rubbing?
