I cut mine in half. They sell connections that are “u” shaped so I don’t see a problem with it.

these are typically called "spade" or "fork" connectors if you're googling

 

looking to tackle this tomorrow. will i need a relay or anything? only electrical upgrades i have are led headlights, mesos map and dome lights and looking to install these puddle pods and the dsim module. any help would be appreciated. thanks fellers.

 

i also have ktjo door illumination lights. dont know if theyll work together.

 

Puddle pods won't need an relay, but put a relay with the LEDs that you plan to hook up to the DSIM. Look here for how to wire up the DSIM.

 

If you mean the door bowl lighting with puddle pods then yes, they work great together. I have them both installed and love it. Nice bright entry lights and a nice accent for the handle on the inside.

You think I’ll need a relay for something like the bowl lighting? Draw seems really small. Do you have the bowl lighting connected to a Dsim module and the puddle pods? Not an electrical expert at all. Need all the help I can get

 

No relay needed for the puddle pods or bowl lighting.. i did use a relay for my rock lights,lights, lights and bumper bar. My rock lights are setup on a switch for off/manual/auto with doors.Are you adding the dsim to get them to fade with the dome lights?

 

Yeah, I’m planning on it. I have the v4 and I’m gonna try and tackle this. And didn’t have a relay, so if I needed one, I probably wasn’t gonna do it. Do the bow lights fade on and off too? Lol.

 

Thats a good question. I haven't checked. They do come on with the drl system and the Guage cluster so its possible. I will let you know in a few minutes

 

The DSIM utilizes the dome circuit. It will be on/off with the dome light (same as the puddle pods). There is a fix for the v4 to put a diode inline on the ground, other wise the capacitor will back feed the dome circuit and defeat the dimming on and off of the dome lights. Hopefully that make sense?

 

Got itbut I’m Not worried about the dome light dimming on and off atm. Maybe down the line when I buy rock lights, bar and other things I’ll get to it. I just had this puddles since the second time he released it, and it’s just been sitting. Wanted to install it already haha.
