    Hey TeecoTaco, how's it going?
I'm here in Sarnia for what could be awhile, and was wondering if you've any experience with diagnosing the needle bearing, and/or installing the ECGS bushing?

    Hmmm...I'm an IT guy. I don't.

@honkonbobo perhaps you could chime in...

I can however invite you for a bourbon...in Sarnia or close to Sarnia?

    In Sarnia.
And I'd love that. We could take my Taco for a quick spin, and you tell me what you think I should get done.
Maybe suggest a good mechanic, although I've dealt with Clayton's Auto in the past and he treated me good.

I see it now...there's actually Clayts auto down near me...he's closed up now.

I'm about 20 mins south of you near Port Lambton...there are a bunch of taco drivers around the area

    Clayton's Automotive on Confederation.
Cool, maybe someone around here could steer me in the right direction, what to get done, what to change while adding new parts.
If I can do something with coaching to make sure it's done right, as ECGS bushing may not get done right with someone unfamiliar with the procedure.

Not a mad rush, but would like to do things before I undercoat and things get messy.

i replaced my own needle bearing with the ECGS bushing and i have the tools to do it as well. @TeecoTaco and i can attempt to help you with that (he will bring the bourbon and provide the entertainment, i will bring the tools and you swear and ask God why the CV axle wont just come out like it does in the youtube video tutorials). i am located in Sarnia as well. i actually am planning on pulling my drivers CV axle this weekend as well and doing an inner and outer rebooting.

Minimally, that's a Woodford's Reserve job...I'm mechanically inclined, so I'm not useless...just my older brother was always the mechanic in the family (has a 6 bay garage for last 20 yrs, no where near)

My passenger cv boot is pooched. Tried just repairing it ( had rubber and ShooGoo, but ended up using gorilla tape, and didn't work.)
So now I need/ will get a proper boot and clamps, so hopefully someone can help me accomplish that. I've got my old cv shaft from my 2008 in the box, hoping it's a straight swap? (It needs an outer boot as well).

i ordered some of the SDHQ tougher boots for both side but going to try replace both boots on my drivers side first. should be fun and messy. i think i caught the tear in my boot quickly so the internals should all be fine. decided to just reboot it to keep it oem instead of going with a low quality aftermarket axle. hopefully its not too much of. PITA. just waiting on a new set of snap ring pliers i ordered. hoping they are here today or tomorrow.

So I picked up a bottle of Woodfords Reserve, and I'll pick up a cv boot and clamps tomorrow.
Are we still on for some work?
Is there anywhere in Sarnia I can pick up the ECGS bushing?
It's a little late to order now, but will do so if I can't just walk in and buy.

@honkonbobo , I looked at SDHQ site, but don't see their tougher boots.
Can you post the direct link?
Thanks to all for your help.
