Makes sense! I think the mounting tabs are such that I should be able to aim them down to compensate as much as I need to. What I’ll likely do is measure the height of the cutoff from x feet on a wall before and after installing the bumper and use that to aim them.

I have the selective yellow Pros and couldn't be happier. For whats its worth I have never had brights flashed at me by oncoming drivers. Most the time I turn them off when I am on more populated roads. I have tested them several times to see if anyone reacted negatively and it hasn't happened yet. I even drove my wife's vehicle and had her drive behind me in my Tacoma I was getting no bad glare. I do have them pointed pretty low.

The light these things throw out is amazing. For anyone on the fence, you will not be disappointed.

Most people wont bother to use their brights to flash you if your low beams are too bright.

Around where I live people will definitely let you know if they think your lights are too bright.

As pointed out multiple times, the Pro output is street legal and won’t blind anyone. The Sports have sharper cut offs though. For drivers that always have their fogs on, remember that excessive foreground light reduces distance night vision. The Pro output is ridiculous. For drivers that always have the fogs on, the Sports are a better fit. For drivers that demand maximum performance when needed, the Pros have yet to be beat. I run the SS3 Pros in selective yellow.

Is there a thread similar to this about best performing light bars? I searched but didn’t have any luck.

I am collecting products to do a driving light thread, though not specifically light bars. To get some gauge of best performance, compare the output specs of the products for lux at 10 meters and peak candela. The products with higher numbers will have higher pattern intensity and farther distance projection. This can be a little tricky on combo light bars though, where a spot optic will make those values much higher in the spot beam, but not indicative of the pattern performance of the full bar.

So the intent to gauge performance would focus primarily on SAE J581 lights, as those have specific pattern requirements right? I'd be interested to see the results of KC's gravity driving lights, as well as Diode Dynamics pods/mini bars. Who else offers road legal driving lights?

Correct, it will be J581 focused, although it won't be quite as comprehensive as this thread. It will also be a more relevant place to share interesting posts/discuss distance lighting vs the headlight threads or this fog thread. Several companies make J581 compliant lights such as; KC, Rigid, Diode Dynamics, Cibie, Hella/JW Speaker to name some of the major name brands, but certainly not as common as the J583 fog compliant pattern products.

I did a comparison on the KC Pro6 to Cibie's Super Oscar 9 here:

Funny you should say that, I literally just got handed the packaging samples, and we made a bunch today for our production trial run!

    Can't wait!

Those Cibies are monsters! I can imagine part of your decision towards the gravity lights was packaging.

I have a pair of original Cibie Oscar pencil beams (with 100 watt H1 bulbs in them) in my basement. I used to run them on my 1976 Toyota Corolla SR5 Liftback that I bought new. They were state of the art back then. Ah, memories.
