Hey, I installed my black headlights, 6000K HID lights for my headlights and fogs, put the grillcraft on, and now I want to add some hellas behind the grillcraft.
    So two questions.
    1) I have heard it is really difficult to adapt the black magic hellas to HID....you need a compact H3 bulb or something? Is there a write up on this? If not...what other stealth option is there?
    2) I want to mount a simple switch somewhere EASY and QUICKLY accessible while driving. They will pretty much only be used along with the high beams since I obviously dont want to blind drivers having them on with low beams. Has anyone ever considered somewhere like by the high beam switch? On the colomn? By the volume controls? Also, on my 2010 access cab ALL the slots are taken. So no, there is no room to put a switch there.

    Thanks in advance!!

Has anyone ever used the MODE button below the volume controls on the steering wheel to activate the lights? Would this be possible?

I'm going to bump this as well. I'm going to be putting in lights as well and need opinions on where to place the switch. Only one spot left on mine, right next to the A-Trac but that's too far away...

All of my switch slots are used up. I just installed two sets of Hella 500's a couple of weeks ago and I put my switches at the base of the shifter cover next to the cup holder side by side.

Would you be able to please post a picture so I have an idea and guideline of how it looks?
Also, how do these lights work in turns of when are they on? Do they only come on when the high beams are on? Do they only come on when you flick the switch? Thanks

I will take some pics and post. I have the switches ran to the lights directly. I can turn them on and off independently. One switch controls the two outside lights and the other control the two inside lights. Nothing is connected the the original lighting system.

Unless something better comes up, that's what I am doing. Going right next to the A-TRAC switch. I don't feel that it's too far away.

I hope these pics work for you guys. The Green switch controls the two outside lights and the Black switch has a blue LED and it controls the two inside lights. The color code helps in knowing which ones I am running at any given time.

Well, the switches on the column would be a sweet spot but it could take a lot of work. They are more than likely momentary switches which means that they only let current through when depressed. You would have to wire in some sort of digital logic circuit to toggle an on/off from this switch. I think it would definitely be possible, you would just have to have quite a bit of electrical experience to build something like that.
I don't know... I'll think about it and see if i can come up with some circuit that would work and get back to you... You got me thinking about this now... Damn you!!!

Haha thank you! With my alpine deck, I never use the mode button. It switches between ipod, sirius, dvd, etc. I just use the touch screen instead since it is much easier. Like the other posts, I only have one slot open, and that is by the Atrac. If I need to be using it constantly, then that will become annoying very quickly. Let me know! I have the hella 500's, smoke color shieldz and DDM tuning 55w 8000k kit all coming my way. I went with 8000k because my 35w is 6000k, they said that they will look very similiar.
    Thanks again!
