Ahhh the Virginia Safety Inspection game...gotta love it

 

I passed.. Thats all I care about

 

My inspection place in Centreville closed so now I'm looking around for a new lenient inspection place. I really miss that old place because they didn't give a shit so long as your normal light worked, your brakes/orn worked, and you had tread on your tires.

 

Could that be the reason that they are no longer in business..

 

Lol I doubt it since they were there forever. I'm guessing covid related.

I know this struggle. The Liberty and Exxon stations on Washington Street in Alexandria were my go-to spot for the longest time (hint: it's where all the cabs got their inspection done). Both were bought out by some local investment group and the days of the 3-minute inspection are gone.

 

I'm running to Mobtown Friday morning to pick up my rock sliders; let me know if anyone has anything that needs to be picked up.

Darn FedEx Tires were supposed to be delivered yesterday. They weren't. They changed the tracking and said delivery today. So I drove the truck to the shop(on my day off) hoping for a morning delivery so that I could get them mounted. Only two were delivered Now tracking says tomorrow for one more and undetermined time for the fourth one. WTH!!!! Stupid Discount Tire Direct will never get my money again. All four were shipped from the same location in GA last week too. I'm pissed to say the least

 

I wouldn’t be so quick to blame DTD. FedEx has been fucking up recently. I had issues with them with my front diff a month or so ago.

 

Only positive, I did get the rear bumper raised up a bit and did oil change and rotated the tires. Put the noisey ones to the rear. I'm getting the toe adjusted when they mount the 35's. I never got it checked after I replaced the outer tie rod ends 2 yrs ago. I just eyeballed it. It's wearing the front tires a little unevenly, making them louder.

 

Oh damn lol I adjust mine myself but at least I use a tape measure. At least some good came of today.

I snuck a trip in on my Wife years ago. Dropped the youngest off at a week long camp in West VA. On the way back, I took her up Briery branch rd to Reddish knob. She thought that was nice, Views and all. Said I have another spot to take you too. Across FR85 we go towards Flag pole, Then down to Switzer lake. She took the non aired down tires and bumpy rd. like a champ.

Although, Hearing her tell the story a few weeks later to some of her friends.. She said in a laughing way, I thought I broke my neck twice bouncing around in the seat. but was still cool to do.
