Oh yeah. Typo. It's not as slick as it seems. It's for a hideaway GMRS radio. I can unplug the mic and hide it when I'm not using it.

also you need to make small changes to the Germes harness. Thanks to @svermilyea for tipping me off. We should get that info to one of the first posts in one of the pioneer threads. Germes should trigger off pioneer remote output.

Someone recommended Posi connectors for the wiring and since I'm lazy and like the easy way out (not soldering) I went with these. I can't speak to how well they work but I assume its pretty idiot proof and relatively secure.

I spent way too much time soldering. Posi connectors would have made much more sense.

also, don’t forget the antenna adaptor. That’s important. I edited my post.

Ever since I graduated from college I have no desire to do any more soldering. You should see the T-Tap/zip tie monstrosity that is holding my electrical fire waiting to happen retrofit headlights.

If you want to use XM you will need a tuner along with the antenna adaptor you have listed. The RCA adaptor is to retain the OEM aux port.

Any chance you maybe remember a post with details on those connections? I didn’t see anything obvious when connecting all my stuff. Not that I really want to use my 3.5 mm but I am curious and you know stuff so...

specifically the 3.5mm jack. I did my Sirius subscription for a few years. It was great when out in the middle of nowhere.

The area circled in red is where the RCA adapter goes. The single end plugs into the single black AUX In plug on the Pioneer side and the double end plugs into the TO2 Harness red and white rca AUX IN plugs. I taped the connections together using Tesa tape to make sure they wouldn’t come apart behind the HU. Added a pic of the TO2 harness with the rca connections circled in red.

Thanks! I was looking for a 3.5mm jack. So there is zero use for any RCA adaptors since the maestro harness has RCA male and the Pioneer harness has RCA female.

The TO2 harness has 2 RCA plugs, red and white, and the Pioneer has one. You have to go from 2 to 1 hence the adapter.

Wow. I am staring at it now wondering how I missed it. It’s painfully obvious. Thanks and sorry to misinform.

RCA female to 3.5 mm stereo mini jack _is_ needed to use factory AUX in. For anyone who has an audio source with a headphone jack. Pioneer is labeled as AUX IN using female 3.5mm and maestro is also labeled AUX in with rca male connectors.

So, not having owned an RR, this is what I whipped up on my own. I'm going to undo the front camera since you helped me figure out the Germes, making that no longer useful. Any other suggestions / recommendations for things I'm mapping oddly/dumbly?

I wish I would have took a screenshot of what I mapped. The one thing that jumps out at me is the phone is backwards. Off Hook is actually answering the phone and On Hook is hanging up. Think of it as picking up the phone or taking it off the hook (old school phones lol) to answer,

I would add mute to the hold button on volume down. The RR2 calls mute = Attenuate

Sweet, I actually did that last night after I posted. But before I saw that I had answer and hang up swapped. So I still have one more flash in my future. I’ve definitely wanted a quick “be quiet” button when driving.

I tried to configure menu for long press of mode but that doesn’t seem to do anything? What is your long press of mode set to?

Also tried to set long press of volume up to trigger EQ and that doesn’t seem to do anything either.
Maybe these work when on the home screen and not when in car play mode though.

Thanks. I intentionally did preset + and - the opposite of seek + and - after playing with it. Because it seemed like the up arrow should go up rather than down for preset selection. Maybe my brain is the backwards part there?
