The way WFO keeps it so low is by using the stock front shock mounts that are literally welded to bottom side of axle and a lot of people order the coil mounts for top of axle like I did it’s an 8 1/2 inch difference from mounting hole to mounting hole

That’d be my thinking if I ever get to something like this. I’m not gonna be rock hoping and beating the shit out of it. Just need something more capable in the snow.

Itll be a second gen if I ever get to one after I get down with school

Awesome. Did you piece by piece put all this together or did you see a build that had it all and used that?
It sounds like it's a long list of parts and some welding. Oh and a lot of cash. I'd be interested in doing something like this sometime.

Dude that's awesome. I think that's what most the work is, finding all the parts and the nuances. I bet it must have been such a pain in the ass sometimes!
You know, if you ever have free time, you should try and make a list of the main items you got, like:
    • WFO Kit
    • Front 05 Axle
    • Rear 05 axle
    • Calipers
    • Etc
    • Etc
    • Steering kit
    • bla
    • bla

You're too humble man!! Doubt its that simple, takes a lot of time to figure out if it will all fit, so I think everyone on the forum would cherish some build information such as a part list!!

That's pretty cool, I didn't know you could just put up such a big axle, reuse the lower shock mounts and leafs. I thought the leafs had pins/holes to align with axle. Surprised duramax axle fit.

Mine is as low as it can go on 20” ori. Swapped oil pan for rear sump and top link almost hit my a/c at full bump. The pic is just at full drop on the lift.
