    I would jump ship for an f150 myself. Wait til the end of the year when they all go nuts with their sales etc.

    Funny, I was just looking at f-150s online. Why do you suggest the f-150 over the Tundra. I'm only considering a V8 f-150.

    Earlier this year when I was shopping for a new truck a Tundra was top of my list (I regularly tow Quads, Dunebuggies, a small camping trailer and my cousins furniture long-distances). For me the interior of the Tundra just looked more dated then I like. I tend to keep my trucks a long time so I don’t want to start-out with an interior which looks ten years old. Conversely I really like the dash layout of the Tacoma; it may be one of my more favorite features of the truck. Oh and I could get a Taco with a MT. I like that.

    In the end I bought the Taco and kept my full-size (‘04 Silverado) for towing and long trips. Had that not been an option I would have been looking hard at the F150 or Silverado. Hopefully the next gen Tundra is more comparable to it’s peers then the current one is.

    My son owns a 2019 F250, my bro in law a 18 f150 and I own a 19 Tundra and there is no way I would buy a Ford truck over a Tundra. Their trucks rattle, dont get stated mpg(same as tundra) and always are repairing stupid stuff like window switches, door latches, etc.

    I can tell you later chevy silverado trucks have had oil consumption issues in their 5.3 v8's.

    Don't overlook the ecboost motors. IMO they make much better truck engines than the 5.0.

    For sure a problem with the 18's and to a lesser extent the 19s but should be corrected by now.

    F150 gets much better MPGs on average. You can't compare two data points and call it the same. Fuelly averages for last 3 years:

    http://www.fuelly.com/car/toyota/tundra
    Tundra
    Year MPG
    18 = 14
    19 = 14.2
    20 = 14.3

    http://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/f-150
    F150
    18 = 17.2
    19 = 16.9
    20 = 16.8

    F150 is 17 MPGs on average vs 14.2 for Tundra. So about 2.8 MPGs better; the Tundra would need a 20% improvement in MPGs to match the F150.

    Ah statistics. Will fuelly let you break that dataset down to 2wds? Ford sold 900k of F series last year. Toyota sold sold 118k of Tundras. If 700k of those F150s were 2wd fleet trucks would that skew the averages?

    edit- I didnt look to hard, you can probably find hard #s on what models sold somewhere.

    I doubt it. Those numbers are reported by Fuelly users. Sure there will be differences in MPGs based on configurations but that variable is there for both trucks. The numbers are too far apart to make it an anomaly.

    The F150 does better on gas. Doesn't make the F150 the better truck but it does better, on average, than the Tundra in fuel mileage.

    If your worried about mileage, a truck is not for you. Just my thought.

    If I do want to ask for them to include a nice sweet extended warranty, who should I talk to? Sales Manager, Service manager?

    with the many issues I had in the beginning, I got no where with an extended warranty with the dealer, went right to Corp and they
    approved an 8 yr. / 125K Platinum warranty.

    yep! I was one of the first on the 2016's and had 12-13 issues in all, all fixed but a pita to keep going to the dealer and dropping it off every couple months. The last was the dreaded 3rd brake leak, I had asked prior and they refused, I complained a bit more on this issue after seeing the interior being gutted on a fairly new vehicle.
