Morning peeps. Figured this might be a good place to discuss this...

I've found that my needs surpass what my Tacoma can accomplish in a few areas that it wasn't really designed for. So I am going to shift to building on a different platform, but the questions is... what to build?

I will be keeping my Tacoma forever ofc but will not really be building it out much more beyond a better stereo and QoL upgrades.

I would dig some suggestions on what you guys might recommend based on the following wants,

1. More powerful drive train than my v6. (thinking either LS or Cummins TD but very open)
2. Ability to tow more weight, especially up mountain passes.
3. Want something I can tweak with (fuel, air, timing, turbo, SC, etc)
4. Solid axle is a requirement.
5. Would love to still keep the size down as much as possible (I know, GL right?)

Anyway I will be looking around for what is the right option, but was just wondering if you all had any thoughts on the subject.

I would buy a jeep if it's old and doesn't have a V6. The old 4.0 jeeps are awesome.

Yeah they can really be built up that is for sure. But I guess I also should say I want something with A/C and decent comfort. I been down the route of adding AC to a vehicle that didn't have it factory and it kinda sucks lol.
