I’m most impressed with the suspension Grind Hard built. I can wrap my head around swapping the engine, but their suspension build on that thing blows my mind!

That's the reason I follow them well that and how they stuff 50lb of crap into one of those little power wheels. The new 4x4 jeep they did is pretty cool. And well they have a Tacoma so there is that!

Yeah, I started watching them because of their crunchy Tacoma. I love their builds, but it baffles me how they will build/disassemble/build/disassemble over and over. Amazing work, but I certainly don’t have their patience.

I taped the fenders and made a marking gauge with a paint stir stick and a nail. Helped me to keep the 1 inch line tight, neat, and wrinkle free. Polish exposed metal with some abrasives and I used some door trim stuff that you can buy at the auto parts store. The adhesive is lacking in those things, so I used some Goop to glue it to the fenders. It's been over 8 years and its just starting to separate from the fender and of course, I'm out of state for a while, so it'll be a bit before I can get to fix it. I think I have a link to a write up I did. Lemme see if I cant track it down.

    Edit: Here you go.

Really starting to also consider getting a 4Runner V8. I like to simplicity of the Toyota interior vs the GX, but I do like the luxury of the GX. Both are priced high right now, with the 4Runner slightly higher in some cases. Which seems stupid. Of course buying a used car right now isn't a good idea as all are priced higher because of Covid.

4th gen 4runners are pretty nice. We had a 5th gen with manual t-case (2011) and it got over 20mpg average and 24mpg on road trips with factory 265/70-17 tires. Ran my BFG ATs load range E 265/70-17 and MPG dropped to about 20 highway. I did a lot of trips to Atlanta in the T4R. Sunroof open, AC off, back window half to 3/4th of the way down, cruise control at 55mph and you can pull almost 30mpg on stock tires. Ours had the Eco-mode or whatever that green leaf witchcraft was.

Did you consider just getting a trailer for the Runner?

Good lord lol. I don’t need metal cut, just plastic lol

GX is still cheaper than the T4R overall and they all are V8’s.
