Anybody have any input on this item? Crazy how it has gone up $80 in price. I guess China flu is to blame.

I got this several months ago after painting half the house exterior by hand over the last 2 years. With this sprayer I can cover a 50' x 10' stucco wall in about two hours and the other half of the house was transformed into a weekend project. Overspray is nearly non-existent.

Literally the best bang/buck I have ever found on a tool. Cleanup is not that bad at all and this increases productivity so much it more than pays for itself every time you use it.

The price has bounced around as high as the current level for years, but I got lucky and got the $169 coupon from hfqpdb.com .

If you pay full price for it, I bet you feel it paid for itself after an hour of solid spraying if you have a lot of area to cover. By far my fave find at HF. Lots of good youtube videos for review, cleanup, technique.

Not recommending or endorsing or anything else....don't know anything about either brand, but just saw it the other day and it's sitting in my cart while I think about it lol...like a lot of things.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
I have this one, it works well for smaller projects. I replaced all of the doors in my house and painted them in about 20-25 minutes using this gun. You just need to play with it a little to get the pressure set right. My first attempt with it was doing the ceiling and it came out horrible, covered in streaks but after I figured out how to set the pressure to get a good spray pattern it works much better.

Yeah I just realized it's a "small project" painter. Got me thinking. Good reviews though..

I've bought two of the other pumps. The first one took a shit after 1 year but I am to blame for that because I would leave it running dry. They're not returnable to the store.

Thanks for the reply. Did you get good pressure before it went out? I’m looking to irrigate about a half acre

This is the one I have experience with. It would pump from 4ft below no problem. I'm sure the one you're looking at will do what's supposed to. Worst thing you'll have to call the company and tell them it's trash and get a refund after a few phone calls.

Did you spray right out of the bucket or did you use a filter before priming?

I put the feeder tube straight into 5 gal buckets, but they were new or recently opened so there was minimal dried out or other pieces of junk in there. The feeder tube has a stainless steel screen on the input-- it is fairly coarse, say equiv. to 40 grit sandpaper in periodicity. The gun output spray nozzle rotates 180 to blast out stuff that does wedge in the spray jet, which I believe is the smallest diameter in the flow path. I did this a few times to clear the jet if it sat in the sun unused for a couple hours, but never had a prob with it clogging. The critical pieces are stainless steel and the build quality is better than I expected when going through it to clean at the end of the day.

It does take 20 mins to clean when done, but takes 95+ percent out of the time to paint. Seems like a power washer motor coupled to a no-overspray gun. I am planning to use it inside as I think it needs no more masking than what I do for a hallway with a roller.

Note the overapray from a standard air gun is immense in comparison, this is totally different. You can see that in some of the youtube vids.

I just might need a pump, mine Wayne is 2 years old and took a dump. :(
Question: Does the expansion tank have a drain? I need to drain thru the winter.

I’ll offer this. Disassemble it and clean out the grease that’s in it and replace it with a high quality synthetic grease. Other than that double check all the electrical crimps and enjoy it.
