Has it leaked a bunch of gear oil out? If not then the seal is probably good

Have you found gear oil under the truck?

If so and you're running it in 4wd get ready to buy another front diff

 

I haven’t used 4WD since I broke it, didn’t see any leaks.

Real problem is, to do the build I need / want more shop space for tools, which is where shit really starts hitting the fan. Will be sorting that out before starting whatever I build. Picked up a decent welder last weekend and the fookin gas tanks for that shit... oof. But never too early to start planning and collecting bits and bobs

 

The coin shortage started affecting me in 98

Yep that is what actually started me down that path. Picked it up to build a flatbed for my Tacoma. But with the plans of land, messing with that and needing something a bit more stout for towing / hauling stuff it became clear that I should stop trying to make a Tacoma fit in areas it doesn't really excel.

I am a huge fan of multi purpose vehicles if that wasn't clear. Time and cost investment I'd rather just build something that do all the things I want to do, as they aren't really that wild or varied.

We want to buy a bit of property up in the northern part of the state somewhere. Nothing huge just 2-3 acres. Start out building a shop and live out of that for a bit while working on the rest. Probably just do a modular home honestly but there are a ton of options these days, especially if you aren't afraid to live outside the box... lol.

So we shall see what comes, but I am ready to get out of the heat and all the people.

 

I'm feeling it. I'm gonna be paying off this sewer repair for a year so saving for tons and that isn't likely
