Once in a while, yes. Happens when I top off the tank when I already have half a tank or more, but it’s rare. It will drop down to normal fast.

I bet you disconnected the battery at some point between the last two fill ups.

Quite a few things at this point..
It'll constantly change. It's dependent on your tank MPG average when you refill. Mine once read in the high 300's. Took a trip with my camper, its never shown a value above 300 now because that trip tanked my average because I was only getting around 12-14mpg and refilled several times at that MPG during that trip. You can disconnect the battery for a bit to reset to default. In your case, you've probably been getting better fuel economy so it went up for your miles to empty instead of down. That's happened to me as well. It's something to keep an eye on, but you don't need to accept that that WILL be how many miles you'll get, it'll adapt as you drive through that tank of gas and you may get more or less miles than what it initially said when you refilled. I keep one of my trip odometers for gas refills to learn what I'm really getting from my tank, less math to do.

That picture happens to me quite often. A good can of air duster will fix it.

Yes, it changes based on your driving. Sometimes I fill mine and it says 385 to empty and others it says 415 to empty. It isn't accurate, but a good rough gauge.

Mine usually says 394 which is fairly close, but the MPG rating on the screen ends up being pretty damn accurate matching hand calculation.

You have a full tank of gas though so that is not very accurate, if you show that same screen when it's time to fill up again then that would be impressive.

Mine usually always sits at 386 full but on occasion, I get 405. But I would say that is 3-5 times a year.

how can i calculate my actual mpg?
with the taller tires, speedo and odor are no longer accurate.

is there a formula some where i can use to get a reasonably accurate guesstimate of true mileage?

Question: Do you have a smart phone?...

Answer 1: Yes, download an app called Fuelly and it will make life easier.

Answer 2: No, use a chalkboard and chalk to do some math... number of miles divided number of gallons.

ok, I'm not quite that bad off.
i do know how to calculate fuel mileage without using an app.

However because I have taller tires than what came on the truck from the factory, the mileage that my odometer shows is not accurate.
So i'm not calculating my fuel mileage accurately.

What I'm looking for is some sort of formula to convert the mileage shown on my odometer to the actual miles traveled.
from there i can get my true mpg.
