Are These Used Tires Any Good?

Found a set of almost new tires but it seems they are a little bit Cracked/rotten, but I might be wrong and its regular Normal wear and tear. They are not rotten/cracked on the sides, just between the thread.

My theory is if you can mention cracked and rotten in the same paragraph as good deal, it’s probably not.

Well, I'm not sure if that's actually cracked or rotten... I see some wear but not sure if that's normal... But thank you.

 

If my tires had that cracking between the treads I would be saving for a new set ... I would never buy them like that no matter the price

 

To more directly answer your question, yes that wear is "normal" for 5+ year old tires that have lost all of their rubber's grip and are on a ticking countdown towards becoming a blowout hazard.

Need some new tires for my GMC Sierra which I will be towing a travel trailer with!

 

Check the date codes on the tires.

Anything older than 2015 should be avoided.

Also check the date codes on the new rubber. You want these as young as possible. If about 1 year old, ask for a more recent date code on a set.
