I'm not talking anyone out of anything. I assume since you have a Tacoma you can think for yourself. I will say my employer provided 2019 F150 the quality can best be described as shit. The passenger side dash is warped. There's no fix for that. The doors don't sit flush with the body. There's no fix for that. The driver side seat belt reminds me of my old 1st gen when the retractor was weak. I've slammed the door on it so many times that it's left dings in the door jam. The wind noise well for some reason it's louder than my old 2014.

I'm not impressed with the quality of my 2019 f150 and it only has 10k

I'd never trade a 4wd in for a 2wd. Like many things in life... it's better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Around where I live, a 2WD pickup is useless. Even if you don't use it that much, it is nice to have for when you do. As I mentioned previously, the XLT has a plastic dash that will warp (it's not a matter of if. It will warp).

Check out Matt's Off Road Recovery. He rescues many 2WD pickups that even tried traction boards. Other than that, I think the F150 is a great option if you need the space. But I already ranted in your other thread.

Seems to me you got unlucky, and it’s very unlikely your replacement transmission will fail you. But if you wanted to get rid of the truck anyway, do what makes you happy.

What trim level? If it's employer provided, I can only assume it is an XL or low XLT trim.

I've had two fords less than 2 years old when purchased in the last 4 years and I got rid of both of them in less than 60k miles. Drive train and electronics kept breaking and even though it was convered by warranty, I don't want to have to take my vehicle in every 2-5 months and be stuck without a vehicle for a week at a time. Similar stories with two of my buddies.

I will never EVER purchase a Ford again

Would parking in my garage (and I work from home) prevent the warping issue?

The XL and XLT share the same dash. Only the higher trims got a better dash, Mine is an XLT

I say let toyota fix your trans. Drive it around and decide later on. As discussed in that thread, even a reman trans is essentially new and only reusing the housing. Unfortunately it sounds like you drew the short straw as transmissions failures especially that low of a mileage is not very common around here, and you know how we on TW like to complain about everything.

I think changing the way you live/your habits to suit a car is back asswards. Buy a vehicle that suits the way you WANT to live.

Nope it's a defect in the way it's designed. It looks like my dash has a boil.

That's no change. That's my current situation. I work from home and park in my garage.

It may help mitigate it, but take a look at the ones on the lot, especially around the defroster vents. You'll see they all warp. The Lariat and above may warp a little around the defroster vent where you won't see it, but you won't likely get the passenger side dash board warp like the XLT and XL have.

It likely won't be resolved until the 2021's come out. Even that remains to be seen since it is a full redesign.

Yep. This is exactly why, when I was looking into them, I wouldn't consider anything below a Lariat.
