Alright. Also, it seems to be doing it more and more lately. Was it like this for you when you had your 06. Before i would rarely experience it but now it seems to occur more. Just want to know if our conditions are alike.

I am taking it in tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone has a full description of the tsb "Intermittent No Start Condition" and of how Toyota is suppose to fix it. The reason why i ask is that i called a dealer and the service manager didnt even know what a TSB was. HUH? WHAT? is what they said. So maybe if i had like a description and how to fix it then it will be easier. Thanks

Just tell them that it has an intermitent no start condition, and there is a Technical Service Buliten on it. If he plays dumb, tell him you will be more than happy to call Toyota Customer service and explain it to them. :)

    Chris or tacomaman,
i just took it in and the guy said that the intermittent no start condition TSB is only for 07 and that it should be fixed by 08. With that being said they took it in with the description of "extended crank" and "starts than dies at times".

well....i hope they get it squared away for ya man. to me, if they say it should be fixed by 08........it probably isnt. all they gotta do is reflash the ecu....not too damn hard to do. its kinda like the leaf springs....they shoulda been fixed too, but they werent!!! let us know what they say man!! when you go back........just ask them if they reflashed the ecu and see what they say. tell them you arent leaving til its fixed!!

I was trying to tell the service manager that it is easy as reflashing the ecu but he wouldnt listen to anything i was saying. I wish i would have gotten the other service rep. He could have at least wrote down possible TSB so that the mechanics could have an idea about it. Im sure they will try to fix something and not just give it back the way it was brought in.

It's OK to be mad at their answer, but don't get nasty with them. Bite your tongue, ask the service manager if you left the truck there for them to find out there really is a problem, would they reimburse you for a rental car while it's there. Take his answer to the dealership president / owner. See what he says.

BS!! Call the 800 number in the back of your owners manual, and tell them. It will get fixed.

The service manager told me that if it happens again, they will leave it overnight to be checked. He said he understands that it doesnt happen everytime. He checked if there were any codes and there were none. One thing he said confused me though. He said that if my car were to excessively crank but turn on but immediately shut off that it would leave a code. And he said there was none.

Thats not nesesarily true. I have been in many vehicles that have cranked, started, then died with no code given. In a perfect world, sure. But I think the guy is an idiot.
