Try a real simple and surprisingly good recipe a friend hooked me on:

    Grandma Bettys
1 lb HB browned, with a little dried minced onion and a good squirt of yellow mustard. Prolly a TBS, you can always add more.
    1 can Campbells Gumbo soup.
Simmer til the liquid is almost gone.

Serve on a bun, I like mine toasted and buttered.
    Leftovers are good too.

De-boned leg of lamb. Open the butterflied lamb and rub with Basil Pesto, Garlic, Pepper and Roasted Garlic & Herb seasoning. Close it up and tie it together, rub the same mix on the outside. Grill indirect heat at 220 F for about 5 hours to 155 internal temp. Make a thick gravy from the drippings - can't let that goodness go to waste. Served with rice and green beans.

Had some sprouts to cook. Wasn’t sure where it was headed. Pan steamed then sautéed with bacon fat, garlic, soy. Added some left over steak tips then added some rice noodles.

Another bowl of homemade miso ramen with spicy bean sprouts, corn, radish, chives, pork tenderloin, soft boiled eggs, black rice noodles and a miso pork broth hidden under all the things.

    @DC 17_3 @Bigdaddy4760

    Base recipe is:

    2 tbsp olive oil
    1 medium onion
    2 cloves of garlic
    1 tbsp grated ginger
1 lb of chicken thighs (I used a rotisserie chicken)
1 medium red apple (I used Honeycrisp)
    3 tbsp flour
    2 carrots
    1 purple potato
    2 tsp garam masala
    2 tbsp curry powder (I used 2.75)
    2 tbsp tomato paste
    1.5 tbsp sugar
    2 tbsp soy sauce
    4 cups of chicken broth
1/2 cup of pearl couscous (I used a sprouted rice and quinoa blend as my wife can't have wheat)

I also added half a tsp of crushed red pepper for a bit more punch. Could have used a bit more. I also added celery.

Heat oil, add onions, garlic and ginger. Cook until translucent then add chicken. Cook through (or in my case just warm up). Add everything else and cook covered for 40 minutes.

For next time, I'd add the quinoa/rice before the veggies as they weren't cooked quite enough and add the apples later because they were starting to get mushy. I thought it could use a touch less sugar but everyone else said it was good. Guess I got overruled.

The curry and garam masala are flavors we've used in a bunch of other recipes but not in a chicken and potato based stew.
