    "Beating on the engine"?

Holy shit you guys. This is hardly any different than just shutting the engine off with the key.

Do this test to your hearts content. It might be a little hard to start after because the fuel mix in the cylinder when it stalls was out of whack. No problem.

I'm not even sure it will work.

Heck you put the snorkel on for a reason, run that bad boy in 4 feet of water or so, you’ll know if it has a leak. :bucket::bucket::bucket:

How'd you get all that snow in there? You must have been driving in a heavy snowfall and it got sucked into the snorkel, correct? I have heard it is best to turn the snorkel head backwards during snowfall for this reason.

No snorkel. The fresh snow from the night before was very light and powdery, almost icy. It was actually getting sucked up through the fender and the stock intake

Nope still got fender liners and all that. This particular snow was just that fluffy & icy. Also, it *might* have had something to do with me being in a bit of a rush. :anonymous:

    Had camped jus
t a few miles from the border the night before and I was trying to make it home before it got dark so I had the hammer down :D

The small amounts of water that might get through a tiny pinhole or something aren't going to hurt your engine. Years ago, my friends dad would "clean" the inside of engines by running that at a high idle, like 3-4000rpm, and slowly pouring a small bottle of water into the intake. Granted, these were carbureted engines, but you're not putting snorkels on to protect the electronics, you're doing it to protect the connecting rods, and those are pretty much still the same.

And in all honestly, my cars always ran better after he did it.

9 years ago I tried this without even asking the interwebs in a thread, and my engine has not blowed up yet. I think about it every night before going to bed, wondering when my engine’s demise will occur from trying it.
