2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road Master Cylinder Failure

I wanted to see if anyone else had an issue with a Master Cylinder failure? My truck in is still at the dealership and they said it may be a while since they want to run tests on the part while in the truck. I’m not happy since now my wife refuses to drive or ride in the truck when it is repairs due to safety concerns.

 

Sounds like a nice quiet ride.
Things break, I'm sure they'll fix it, and if you request, let the tech drive it home a few days to verify fix.

 

How many miles on your truck? I have 3,200 on my ‘20 OR which has the same style of MC as your truck. Mine has been flawless on and off-road. I’m sure yours will be too once you get it back. You might want to remind your wife that there is a cable-operated ‘emergency’ brake right next to the drivers right leg.

 

What - Safety is not paramount? If it is a master cylinder failure why is Toyota running test instead of replacing it?

 

great first and only post, title of thread has a 2020 Tacoma, lists a 1998 4 cyl 5 speed in his sig. and its Friday.

No issues with mine 2020 pro. Tell the wife things happen, but that is rare problem... I am sure they will take care of the problem..

Update: Toyota dealer had my truck from 9.3 -9.18 to fix the problem. The Master Cylinder had to be replaced. They had Toyota engineers look into the problem and try and find out what caused it to fail. Total repair cost $2,700 and they said don't be surprised if Toyota doesn't have a recall based on my truck. As for my profile I forgot to update it to my new truck since I owned the 1998 Xtra Cab 4x4 for 22 years.

 

$2700 to replace the MC? something stinks in Denmark
