The angles is to clear the bed humps. The straight flat ones won't fit without hitting those.

They could have still made it squared until the hump and then dropped it down again. I assume it was just cheaper and easier to do angles

Yeah, looks like UWS has the angles and others have the straight drop down, but those have less space than the angled boxes.

I liked the videos where they’re actually manufacturing the lockers.

I considered the zip lockers, but then I found a random forum member that had connections and I got everything for my locker set up for $1300.

All new stuff mailed to me for that.

Makes me wonder what the markup is on this stuff.

I paid slightly more than you for my front and rear but still got a good deal on both.

My price included the dual ARB compressor and manifold kit.

edit. Had to look it up. The two lockers, dual compressor, and manifold kit was $1600 to my door.

Man that is a great deal! Mine did not include my compressor.

edit: Damn i thought you meant per locker setup. My lockers alone were $1750 for both. But you saved labor by doing it yourself so thats always nice. Compressor was $300. I got all new bearings and shims in my rear though because its used way more than the front.

For sure, $650 per locker and $300 for the dual compressor and manifold.

I did have to buy some decent differential tools to do the job, but those tools last forever so it's worth it.

You'll have to go back through that same mud hole once you're locked!

No I'm factory gearing, I didn't touch my pinions during the locker install, just removed diff and ring gear and then reinstalled and rechecked backlash to get it exactly where it was before removal. So there was no new wear on the gears since everything mated up exactly the same. You check backlash before removing the differential if you don't plan on regearing, it was within spec.

If you're regearing checking backlash prior to removal doesn't matter, since it will be all new breaking in.

I've never set backlash on gears before, so I don't know what you're talking about...:D

It's not bad on the back differential, but on the front being a clamshell it's a bit of a PITA.

I was all new to this too, until I watched youtube. That was 2 or so years ago though. My truck had 15k miles on it with the axles out from under it.
