A while back I got sick of replacing the cheap plastic vents on this camper only do it again a few years later, so I made some from .090” aluminum.
I made a trim bezel for the back and sandwiched a piece of aluminum screen behind it to keep the nesting critters out!

still feeling like this today... :pccoffee: at least it’s a short week and today is my Friday!

We try not to do engine work, it’s so hard to hold things and it usually takes as long to fixture something as it does to actually machine it.

A guy brought a go kart head in yesterday and wanted .050” taken off.

I guess he’s trying to cheat, I don’t know. He said they race in the backyard on weekends.

That looks great! Is it one piece or welded together?

I had to make the inside flap for ours, we had a thin piece of stainless here at the shop

    Railing came out great!

I've been using AutoCAD for getting damn close to 20 years now. The latest thing I designed and then actually built was the wall around my patio.

I made a few changes along the way but for the most part, it's what I had planned and keeps the patio about 15 degrees cooler.

Before that it was a pallet wall in the theater room but that was laid out in CAD because sometimes I'm a picky motherfucker.

It’s a back plate and a formed cap for the vent, I used a tab and slot location to get the position perfect and it also allowed for some plug welds in the back of the plate.
I also made an upper and lower refrigerator vent system like this as well and added a muffin fan at the top on a thermostat to vent the hot air from the back of the cabinet.

I agree about engine stuff, we refuse to do anything for motor parts, or even welding on intakes or other items. On top of them being odd jobs, they’re normally covered in grease and made from cast metals making it dicey at best!
Sounds like someone’s making an outlaw go kart! This weekends plans are to get my son out in the shop to assemble his kart, looking forward to it!!!

Just cut this steering wheel initial emblem out for the center of my son’s go kart. Had to add a personal tough to it! The plan is to epoxy the loose pieces in the thin base disc while in the recessed center hub. I know, he has the coolest initials, CCR!
    How’s everyone else’s day going?

4,000 watt Co2 laser. The bottom disc is 22 ga. and the letters are 11ga. I might end up remaking the letters thinner to make them less of a sharp hazard.
