I get a slight ram air effect from my snorkel and it is about as cold an air intake as one can get. It definitely increased my fuel economy when I added it.

    As for power increase?

You'll never feel a power increase from any intake mod unless there's some spiny whiney wooshy bits along the line.

I combined mine with the turbo whistle over the exhaust

You can put one of these bad boys over your exhaust too. It creates faster flow of your exhaust out of your exhaust pipe.

    A snorkel.

Just so there was something different than the other answers.

    With a stock intake box.

    :smack:

To be fair the FJ crusier has a stationary "fan" in it's airbox kinda like that directly from Toyots's engineers that is designed to add some centrifugal force to water and dust separating it out where it can drain from a boat valve and help prevent it from reaching the filter.
