I took me 3 years of looking to find the right house in the right area, ofc I was a little picky and my down payment was just growing as I waited.

I tried to get my mom (as a 13-year-old) to let me go help. That's all I wanted to do. I was still dead set on law enforcement at that point, even went a few years later and was set on going USMC. There were different plans as I obviously never became either.

But, I wouldn't change much of that for anything. 15 years last month in the fire service.

@Devious6 that is one hell of photograph and survival story. I'm glad you made it out.

    Yeah patience is key!

We sold our house in July 2019 then rented an apartment on a 4 month short term lease. Figured getting rid of our old place first would allow us to move quicker when something popped up we liked, and also our offer wouldn't be contingent on the sale of the current house. 4 months was definitely wishful thinking lol. A year later we finally found a house that checked all the boxes and closed on 7/31. It ended up being worth the wait as we were able to save a lot of money and got a great interest rate too.

Depends on your situation obviously, we were pretty specific on the location and amenities we wanted.

We listed ours contingent on us finding a new house. It “sold”above asking in three days when we listed it. Took 3 months to find a new house, and the buyer waited the entire time.

Spotted this guy out and about. He must have been at happy hour early then decided it was a good idea to put on his 4x4 Emblem + Tacoma Sticker.

Ok so I'm going to do a tune up on my 2013 tacoma 4.0 V6 automatic trans. Going to change spark plugs, clean the drop in K&N air filter (running paper stock filter while it dries) fuel filter and oil. Also going to clean the MAF, IAC and throttle body. I keep seeing different things about which plugs to use. The main thing is that there's two different plugs for each cylinder head. So my question is what plugs are in each head? Part numbers, brands? My mpg's have gone to shit lately and the tune up is overdue with 74k miles on it. Thanks in advanced.

I used NGK Iridiums in my 2013 before I broke it.. ILFR6T11. The multiple plug things is a misunderstanding, as they come with NGK on one side and Denso on the other, but they're basically the same thing.

Also the OEM plugs have a 30k mile service life.

Some people swear by replacing copper with copper, but I noticed no difference going to iridium.

The only fuel filter on a Tacoma is in the tank. I never touched any sensors on mine in the 100k miles it drove around..

I went with the stock just because I never had an issue with them. I also had about 80,000 when I changed them. There was some rubber or silicone bit that came with my kit to replace as well. I didn't pay attention, but think it was all ngk on one side, then sensor on the other.

MAF, is on my winter list of maintenance as well.

Don't try to install your own tires again! Lol. If anyone is in the area we should get a Michaux state forest ride going.

    @skothicus

Anyone going out for small game tomorrow? Skot and I were thinking about going out but it seems awfully warm still. Probably just going for a evening drive to explore. I gotta stay up late so I can switch to my overnight shift next week.

Yeah I was always taught you wait until after the first frost. But I'm not that much of a hunter. Definitely more a fisherman.

The downside: I don't know if I'm coming or going

The upside: I'm done at 1500 on Saturday and don't go back until 2300 Tuesday. I get a weekend day off 2 years into the railroad which is unheard of lol

Don't work in the field but I work around a lot of people with RR spouses/family members. No way I could do that schedule. That being said you guys get awesome benefits seen it first hand . Im working overnight due to staff turnover so thankfully its not permanent. Upside for me is I dont have to deal with people or shenanigans.

I want to upgrade my truck with lift suspension wheels and tires. Any recommendations for a shop I should bring it too? I’m in the LehighValley/ Pocono area. Thanks.
