What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Bench testing some eagle eye LEDs. And pre wiring a switch and harness for a hopeful puddle light install tomorrow evening. Was planning on tomorrow day, but got called in for a last minute Saturday at work.

 

Are we talking about the faux pro skid plates? I’m in Canada and would be interested also.

 

That’s awesome! Can’t wait to see and hear about this. I would love to do it, just haven’t worked up the courage yet to tackle this size project.

Dealer just quote me 190 for Bed Lights installed (I said no thanks)...so 70$ and 15minutes sounds pretty darn good.

What brand did you go with for the inserts? I got the main sill protector but they disappear on my black truck.

I installed some Rigid amber covers over my Pro fog lamps. Please excuse the potato quality photos as my phone doesn't have a decent night mode and I didn't feel like backing the truck out or pulling out my good camera. Also, ignore the dirty door, it's on my list. I know the covers likely kill a bunch of lumens against something like the well regarded Diode Dynamics unit, but I dig em. The covers look really orange in the package, but the light color is bang on what I wanted.

I also installed the 2G bed rail on the truck. I have a pair of Rocky Mount fork mounts, so it will be nice to use them again. I kept the bed rail end caps from my wrecked 2G, so I was able to button everything up nicely.

I do have some decent photos of my LED headlamps during the day, but nothing great at night yet. The LEDs look fantastic at night, I'm super pleased with them. I do have Pro parts, yes. I got the OEM Pro grille right when they were first released and Toyota was doing stop sales on them, the OEM Pro fogs when Toyota was rumored to do a stop sale on any Pro parts and then the Pro skid when Toyota shifted to the 2019 design with the red letters. I had hoped to get one of the final 2017-2018 embossed TRD style plates but ended up with a red letter piece. I ended up swapping out the red letters for a set of Tuffskinz letters in Turbo Silver, which blended in quite nicely.

It's better when I don't add up the totals.

That being said, I do need to do a night shot with all the lights going, it's pretty intense. The only shots I have are potato quality cell phone shots that just look awful.

I’ve heard good things about Shell Rotella for gas trucks so when the local Wally World had the 5 qt jugs on clearance for $17 I couldn’t pass up the opportunity and I bought 2 jugs. I will change the oil in about a month and post my observations.

 

MESO ultimate map lights. 5 min install tops and super bright. Should’ve got the dome lights at the same time, but wasn’t sure how these would turn out. @MESO you make an incredible product sir, fits like a glove!

Little something today with a big thanks to fellow member @Iwilltaco for locating these for me. Really dosnt think i would find a set off a 2020 this fast or at all by the time i was ready. With that being said these getting installed on Wednesday.

It was very easy to do. I taped mine all off to spray, because I did it the day after I bought it. But from what I hear, theyre read easy to remove. If I were to do it again, thats the route I'd take. I really like the body colored ones, but I think they're something like $130. I'd rather put that to a different mod, so I'm happy with the black
