Get me up to speed on TRD LED DRL's please

I have an SR, so its different. Can someone tell me how the DRL's act on the TRD's?
Please tell me what they do with the stalk switch at the following settings:
OFF
DRL
PARKING
HEADLIGHTS

and what they do if turn on the turn signal.

OFF - OFF
DRL - DRL's ON
PARKING - DRL's ON with
HEADLIGHTS - DRL circuit OFF/But stay illuminated by Parking circuit (dim)

Turn signals are a separate incandescent bulb.
DRL's are L shape LED's bordering the headlight.

The DRLs will shut off entirely with the headlights, but if left on auto, they'll remain on when it is dark out.

 

So the DRLs are just white? So when the headlights are on, they are just dim white? And the turn signals are just an amber bulb that only comes on with the turn signal?

 

Yes..unlike the SR/SR5 with incandescent turn signals which do dual function and 2 filaments...DRL and TURN, the other filament is Parking circuit.

 

@caribe makaira as always, you rock! Thanks. I just wanted to make sure I fully understood how they operate on the TRD's. One last question: The side marker light behind the orange reflector; it just turns on with the parking circuit? So it is just on, solid, when the parking circuit and/or the headlight circuit are on?

 

US variants don't have Auto.

 

Mine is a US variant with auto.

 

None of the US variants do? Good to know..

From Parking setting and after.
You could make it flash & parking with a relay...

 

Just use a NC contact driven by the flasher? Or how?

 

I believe that the Canadian versions cannot shut off DRLs by law. I.e. no form of headlights on

 

Ah, I remember back in the day, I used to buy Canadian alternators because they were around 20A more output because of that. That was in the 90's though, so has it been that way up there that long?

DRL Off, Auto, Parking, and Low Beams

 

I'm not sure. I just saw someone mention that in another thread because he wanted to turn off his DRLs, but it was a Canadian truck.

 

Is that In the quasi American / Candian areas? I thought a lot of the northern areas were like that
