Woolwax (fluid film) This Fall 2020 Multiple days

Yeah, I know that and the back sides of the CV joints are often overlooked. I'm going to do this this fall, I'm just debating when because I know it gets pretty rainy before snow and salt go down.

Yes sir. I have one coming at 930 so before or after up to you. I'll probably be doing mine tomorrow as well and then the trailer

 

How long does the process usually take? I would be able to go after the 9:30 if that works. I’ll be coming from Central MA so about 45-1 hour drive I’m guessing. Thanks

I'm in Virginia, so not taking advantage of this, but I still find it very cool.

(I've only been a Tacoma owner for a month or so, but picked up some Wool Wax within the first couple weeks.)

 

Not to hijack this thread but.. You spray like everything everything, beside electrical connectors? I just bought the spray can set and after I get rid of some surface rust and hit it with rust converter I’ll WW it.

 

Pretty much. Brake lines, control arms, trans pan, etc if it's metal spray it. Some people don't like the leaf springs sprayed I do mine but doesn't make much of a difference there. Spray the rear axle/pumpkin

Interesting, makes some sense but not something I’m gonna do at this point. Do people normally pressure wash their frame or anything before you spray?

 

Some do some don't. I typically hose mine a bit but also depends how dirty it is

the frame setup is much less 'complicated' than the 2nd and 3rd with all the numerous crevices everywhere on those

Ive been spraying my vehicles with FF for years. I want to consider using an airless paint sprayer. Does anyone know if this could work?

 

i will have to report back in a year or two years, there were crusty surface areas on my rear axle facing the driveshaft i just got sick and tired of trying to clean off thoroughly and repaint so i just sprayed black WW over it
perhaps it can dissolve some of the surface corrosion there and in the U-bolts area deep under there, idk lol
... if that is what is meant by inhibitor, to dissolve existing crust

This is definitely possible. Don't believe the hose extension works with those though. There's videos of it on YouTube.

I think it's just considered as an inhibitor because if the rust is coated, it's protected, and therefore can't rust further

 

Jason, do I need to remediate the existing rust on my truck and snowmobile trailer before getting sprayed or do you usually just spray it? Trailer is 2 years old but it seems to have a good amount of rust already.
