Ultimately I'm just questioning my logic. If I want the truck to hold 5th gear longer:

I'd tell it to upshift at 55 instead of 50
And to downshift at 60 instead of 55?
Right? At the same given throttle positions...

Previous version of vF had a single upshift and a single downshift table. The latest version has 7 of each. I have not seen any notes published on how the ecu chooses which table to follow. I have made all 7 of mine identical.

Correct. The numbers you can’t change are accelerator position. The numbers you can change is speed in mph. Enter the speed you would like the shift to happen at a given accelerator position.

That's what I was talking about. The 7 tables "matching" for each gear change makes the most sense to me. Or at least adjusting the same values, an equal percentage across the 7 tables. Ex: first 3 values on each of the 7 tables for the 5th to 6th upshift should increase 10%...

Have you tried adjusting table four upshift from 5th to 6th? That's when my screen went AWOL

I recommend driving solely in s mode for a week or two and making a mental note of when you shift. Then enter approximately those numbers in vF. I found only around first third of accelerator pedal required adjustment for my liking.

Don't forget to adjust TC lock/unlock tables to match your new shift maps.

Might be time for some individual tune threads, kinda like some folks have dedicated build threads. Would make it easier to follow what adjustments everyone is making.

That probably warrants a tune sub forum for easy organizing.

Damn... also have you noticed if those values for shift points are really in kilometers or is it miles per hour?

Is it as simple as adjusting them up the same percentage that you upped the shift speeds?

I'm on 04B04 and for me, my 'Throttle Limit S Gear' tables actually modifies my normal 'D' driving and vice versa ("Normal" tables modify ECT throttle). It may be the same for you.

You want the TC lock and unlock point for that gear to be higher than the min shift point. How much higher, I dont know. I made mine the same mph higher as stock and its been fine. Only some maps need to be adjusted. Stock TC doesn’t lock up in gears 1-3, i see no reason to change that.

That existing performance forum would suffice..
    vF Tuner 3rd gen V6 M/T and A/T threads..

Maybe get em stickied, as there would be quite a bit of traffic lol
