V2, I don't really know my way around wiring. I'd like to get the V2 harness. Im trying to upgrade my basic headlights (SR type like the one on the wooden floor) to the TRD Pro (white background). I already own the TRD Lights, but unfortunately I couldn't upgrade it. My truck doesn't have an additional cable harness coming out of the truck to connect to the TRD Pro model. I believe the trd pro has 5 connections while my sr one has 4. Not sure if this will be able to make my truck have the fifth harness.

    Hey,

The only thing you need are the headlights and the turn signal sockets with the bulbs.

The harness' I sell have a total of two new connectors for each side; new turn signal and DRL connector that connects to the DRL plug on the new headlights.

You'll just need to convert the female parking light pin that comes off the SR three pin connector, to a male and plug that into the open spot on the new DRL connector.

Where can I purchase it? This would be very helpful if you had a video for it. Not very savvy on the wiring.

Okay, I was sitting here scratching my head, wondering how the heck this worked. The DRL working off of the parking signal makes sense, and agrees with what I was seeing.

Just so I'm clear: The new LED DRL does not work when the stalk switch is set to DRL, just when its set to PARKING LIGHTS?
can you confirm please? I am planning mine out, and know I can make them work with the stalk switch like a switchback, but was trying to see if there would be a more direct route....

Based on the initial reviews, it appears that the DRL function on the stalk no longer controls anything with this harness. This was the one thing keeping me from purchasing one. I didn’t want to have to use the parking lights selection all the time and have my screen dim, rear lights and license plate lights on.
If you’re just looking to add a separate DRL wire, I would use Caribe’s thread to add a DRL circuit for the LEDs.
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...sr-sr5s-without-drl-led-in-headlights.682995/
After numerous questions to him and staring at his diagram for a day, it makes sense and looks to be pretty easy. You’ll get a fused, DRL circuit that turn on with the ignition and cuts off when the headlights come on.
I’m looking at this for some switchback halos I’m about to install.

That is correct... But it depends on your DRL settings in your HU:
    1. DRL unchecked: your DRL stalk setting is not doing anything and your DRL LED strip will only work on Parking light setting.
    2. DRL checked: your DRL LED strip does not work but the original amber turn signal DRL is on.

    I hope I’m making sense.

I was not aware that I would lose the DRL stalk function with this harness (Which is also why I posted on here to make others aware that don’t know) and might have gone a different route but I’m actually pretty happy with how it’s worked out due to the switchback halos that I run as amber DRLs most of the time. That obviously wasn’t planned but like i said it worked out.

:rofl:That’s too funny, I told @caribe makaira the same thing! He does know his stuff  Thanks for the verification @Kairide @Bubble Wrap I was curious how this harness got around the combined DRL/turn signal issue, and after diagraming it, I kept coming to the conclusion that the DRL was being powered by the parking light. Just wanted to make sure what I had concluded was correct. This harness solution is still a nice simple solution if you don’t mind that though.

    Hi All,

Sorry, leading/supporting IT Healthcare in a big organization isn't exactly the easiest, so I try to get to you guys as soon as I can.

But I thank you all for sticking with me!

I will try my very best to make a video for you guys, to better understand the V2 harness installation.

I wrote up my install based off the V1, because my DRL harness was cut when I got my DRL headlights; so I had to make it all work from scratch. I will make the video based off the V2 when I install it. I just wrote it up based off the wiring that I know works.

All in all, what I give you is what's needed to make it all work as plug and play as possible.

All you have to do is convert the female parking light wire to a male pin to fit in the empty hole on the DRL plug.

The only way to make it all work is to use the parking lights on the combo switch, disable the stock SR5 DRL from the radio and use the Daylight function on the radio. Unless you go a separate wire rout to the DRLs; your preference. You will lose functionality of the DRL on the combo switch because the way the SR5 iw wired up.

Otherwise you gotta wire the whole thing up like the models higher than us, which I'm still figuring out as time permits.

But if you guys have aaaaany questions, please feel free to ask!!

    Thanks, Jess

Your harness is a good solution given the limitations of the SR DRL set up. I think the only way to get around the issue of supplying an actual constant 12v to the DRL is maybe wire back to the stalk switch and use a relay? I am not sure if that’s an option, as I’m sure @caribe makaira would have used it in his solution. So, it seems to me the only options are ignition or parking light controlled DRLs for now. I didn’t mean to come across as having an issue with your solution, I just wanted to make sure I understood it. The only other solution I can think of would have the DRL turn off when turn signal is activated ( like a switch back).

Oh yeah haha, no I get what you mean. No probs there :)

Yeah, I'm going to check out some options to try and improve the wiring part

The relay to the Stalk would not work because it would have the DRL's always ON, unless that is what you'd like. (no Dimming of the DRL when headlights are selected)

Would wiring it back to the stalk turn it on when DRL is selected? And it would stay on with the parking lights and then the headlights?

So do the DRL's on the TRD headlights give priority to the dimming signal? Like if the DRL signal was present, and then a signal came in to dim it, would they then dim?

So the DRL signal coming from the stalk is still interupted by the turn signal?

Sorry, talking about 16-19 TRD LED DRL lights
