Washed all the ash off that’s raining from the sky. Ordered some random stuff. This forum may be a bad influence.

Also, I'm convinced the majority of people here are electricians. Impressed by the level of knowledge.

you're still technically in the break-in period, and the trans is still learning your driving habits.

    you'll be fine.

I'll post this in the 'Dog platform thread' also, but incase this will help anyone looking to do a platform that sits on top of the folded down seats in a double cab, it may help with ideas...

I originally made a template out of cardboard and dry fitted that to get the feel for it. I would highly recommend doing the template as my skills are not good and it was definitely a bit of trial and error. I ended up using some carpet from Lowes, 'under vinyl floor' rubber for the base and a cheap foam mattress topper from Target.

Disclaimer: The measurements in the photo include the carpet wrapped around the edges (I don't have measurement without :() so use them as a guide (my bad)... As you can see the red scribble part is not needed (I've been meaning to cut it off)

I've got one of these Victory mounts and if nothing else, it is sturdy. Currently I have a Comet SS-680SB which works pretty well, but I've go a Larson on order as I've had issues on my mobile rig hitting repeaters 20+ miles away which is both of the Yaesu Fusion repeaters in the area.

Best I’ve seen so far is 20 MPG while driving only highway at 70 MPH. Kinda thought that would be a bit better than it was.

If I remember correctly the MPG figure that the manufacturer uses is based on exhaust emissions at 50mph on a dyno. No one took each and every car out for a drive and checked it.

That, and air resistance increases by the square of the speed. The faster you go the worse it gets.... quickly

    YMMV RON

Super easy to remove the seats, biggest problem is storing them.
